OT - Croutons Yes or No

Croutons in a salad can give a crunch when I do not expect it and that throws the salad off to me. Even though I know what it is, when I first bite it my first instinct is that there is something very wrong in my salad. Years ago Chilis used to garnish their quesadillas with delightful thin tortilla strips. They were wonderful alone but if they were mixed onto my quesadilla it was an unexpected crunch and I would immediately think "fingernail" when I bit into it.

I have problems.

I have never had bacon bits on a baked potato but my guess would be that the unexpected crunch would once again ruin it for me.
