Tasty little morsels or cleverly disguised bits of stale bread passed off as a French delicacy? You decide!
They are good on salad.
I always make sandwiches out of them.
I have heard of finger sandwiches, but never fingernail sandwiches.
I crush them and top my ice cream with the powder.
Croutons in a salad can give a crunch when I do not expect it and that throws the salad off to me. Even though I know what it is, when I first bite it my first instinct is that there is something very wrong in my salad. Years ago Chilis used to garnish their quesadillas with delightful thin tortilla strips. They were wonderful alone but if they were mixed onto my quesadilla it was an unexpected crunch and I would immediately think "fingernail" when I bit into it.
I have problems.
