The ACC is a good fit for UC.

It's fits in the geological profile as far as location, and the football team would be able to compete in that 2nd tier of teams, as would the BBall team.

It's going to take a few years, but we'll get there. Tuberville is a great coach for UC. He's a great recruiter. He's old enough to not bail on us too.

Mick has a few years to get his shit together or he's gone. The boosters will not stand for this shit.

UC was in the Great Midwest and C-USA....in basketball the conference is not nearly as important as football due to the NCAA Tournament. All you need to be is one of the best 64 (68) teams, and you have a shot.

It's not as rigged as football in terms of getting into the BCS or the soon to be playoffs.

Used to be that way, but with all the majors scooping up the bigger programs it may not be possible to recruit anymore without the big conference. I hope they can get into the ACC.

I agree about Tuberville. We need a national name for the basketball team now.

Nick Van Exel would be my pick, actually. He's an assistant with the Bucks (NBA) right now.

I like some of the talent that UC has in BBall, I think they just need experience.

Thomas, Lawrence, Caupain, Johnson...all of those guys look like they will be solid players down the road.

The problem is, there was a gap in recruting that caused them to not have enough experience between this years senior class and the sophmore class. UC has 2 juniors, and neither are worthy of starting (Sanders/Guyn).

still don't think that will affect BBall as much.

You can be in any conference and make the NCAA tourney. If you are good, you'll get in. You can recruit selling that point.

It won't work in football because if you're not in a big conference, and not ranked early, it is nearly impossible to get into the top 10, let alone compete for a NC.

Oh, and the gap in recruiting was caused by a 5 man freshman class a few years ago, and then the need for Cronin to continue signing JUCO players...
