On a burger... Spicy brown mustard and hot sauce. Or, cole slaw with a barbecue and spicy brown mustard mixture.

On a hot dog... Kraut and spicy brown mustard. Or, relish and spicy brown mustard with some raw onion.

Just in case you guys like a heart attack on a bun like me... I got this burger called the "Memphis Burger" at the Cheesecake Factory a few months ago. I highly suggest you either go there to try it, or create it yourself...

Memphis Burger

Burger, Topped with Slow Roasted B.B.Q. Pork, Melted Cheddar, Cole Slaw, Pickles and Mayonnaise. I added spicy brown mustard of course.

The old record was held in Canada and we wanted to bring it home to America on the 4th of July," says Nick Nicora of Ovation Food Services. He along with Brett Enright of Juicys traveling barbecue catering service were the masterminds behind the burger.

In a day of burgers and hot dogs and listening to people tell others what to put on what, what do you put on what and what isn't put on what you dont want?

Ketchup goes on CHEESEburgers
Mustard goes on hotdogs.

I put both ketchup and mustard on cheeseburgers and only mustard on hot dogs.

Burgers: ketchup, mustard, lettuce, onions, tomatoes
Hot dogs: ketchup, mustard
Brats/sausages: any type of spicy mustard, onions, relish

The only things I really don't like on burgers are pickles and mushrooms. I like pickles I just don't put them on burgers and mushrooms are flat out disgusting.

Ketchup and/or mustard on either one is good, not together though. I don't love mustard, but I don't hate it. The only time I need/love mustard is corn beef on rye.

Mayo or pickles are a great way to ruin a meal for me. Won't eat something if either of those have gone anywhere near it.

Also, if you're putting condiments on a steak you need a new steak.

True. But when I was in Paris I tried béarnaise sauce. That shit is bangin'.

Yeah, I guess that depends on how you define condiment. A red wine sauce on a good steak is amazing.

Burgers - Nothing. Maybe cheese.
Hot dogs/Brats - Nothing.

While I understand that some people may prefer to add things to their sandwiches/sausages, if you need to put something on your food to make it taste better, you are making it wrong. Still, put on whatever you want. You folks are all entitled to your own (wrong) opinions.

I now fully expect to see one of these in response: :lm:

Nah, I'm with you for the most part. I usually don't add anything to my hot dogs and cheese is usually the only thing I add to burgers. You're right though, I usually only add stuff if it gets burned.

Not from me, while I disagree I feel everyone is entitled to their own tastes and opinions. I find that certain sauces and condiments bring out and compliment the foods they are paired with. I have known people who not only do not use condiments but salt and pepper are about as far as they for spices.

Me personally I like to kick things up a bit with sauces or condiments.

Hotdogs - ketchup, mustard, onions, and relish
Cheeseburgers - Ketchup, mustard, bacon, pickles, and onions

A couple of notes:

-I did not include chili for the hotdog because a chilidog is so much more than a hotdog with chili on it.
-All mentions of onions are raw
-All mentions of Mustard are either spicy or specialty (Brewery mustards are great)
-All mentions of relish or pickles are dill (sweet pickles are only for persons under the age of 9, grow up)
-I reserve the right to substitue jalepenos for pickels and/or relishes on anything, ever.
-Mayo is disgusting, I have no desire to have a flavored lard spread on my food.

You are all welcome.
