I'm not sure WTF happened there but they looked like they were following the game plan up until Moore went and fucked the momentum all up.

Moore killed it for us. Hopefully Ellis is able to play.

Okay, so how awesome would it be if Mick came out to coach the second half?

Well, a week in Vegas...I'm not sure how I'm still alive.

Anyway, UC/Purdue was awful to watch. Awful. Saying that, though, UC NEVER wins that game. For once, it was nice to see the team we root for score 7 points in under a minute, and win in OT. How many last second shots has this team endured over the decades to lose games? I'm not even going to go through the list because...well, I don't want to kill anyone today.

As for UK, the game unfolded like I thought it would. Close early on, UK pulling away in the second half. The kids were just gassed, and the bigs are limited to 1 backup: DeBerry. Who, by the way, is the UC tourney MVP. What a monster he became.

As for Ellis...no reason to respond that way. Yeah, he got nailed in the face during the Purdue game, but you simply can't react that way. In the UK game, you knew it was going to be a long day when Towns came down the first 3 or 4 trips and absolutely just obliterated Ellis in the post without getting a charge call. I mean, he was going vintage Shaq (first few years in LA when he just slammed into everyone after gaining 30lbs of muscle, and no one knew how to call a charge on him because he was just so damn big) and Ellis was just doing his damnedest to keep position and not pick up fouls. The fact that UC couldn't get a FT in the 1st half was laughable, and the refs were certainly favoring UK, but ultimately, UC missed too many easy opportunities to keep the game close for anyone to complain about the refs.

Hell of a year. Hell of a team. Teams that lose their head-coach usually fall completely apart. In 1995, Duke lost coach K and won something like 5 games. Duke. With all the talent you'd figure one could roll out of bed and win 15 games just by showing up. Considering what was lost off the team, all the new guys coming in, losing Cronin...Hell of a year, and next year is looking very good, especially gaining 2 more kids that are highly recruited (Each rated top 100 by one publication or another) and a 3rd guy who won his area's player of the year award in Georgia. No real loss from this team (Sanders, Guyn)...and if Moorman doesn't return, they can use that to secure another big in the post. The future is looking very good for this team over the next few years.

We still need a couple guys who can score 15 a game consistently. Not sure that will develop next year out of this bunch, but to win at this time of the year you have to be able to score.

I think both Caupain and Ellis have that potential. So does Cobb, but potential and ability to actually do that, well, those are two different things.

The nice thing is 2 of the 3 kids coming in are pretty highly rated and are expected to be able to help right away, which is good.

Moorman is officially gone, and that opens up another scholarship (They have 2 open now). I wouldn't be surprised to see another JUCO center or PF signed for depth. After this coming year, it is Moore and Clark in the post.
