It would be like Pittsburgh winning the division, playing Boston for conference championship and then playing the rangers (who sat out the last series) for the cup. Totally makes sense! :L

The matchups are awful. Michigan has no business in a BCS bowl. The Big Least should have their automatic qualifier revoked.

Oklahoma St. vs Stanford should be a good game if Okie St. can rebound from the devastation of being screwed out of a chance to play for the title.

There are some really bad bowl games too. I think we're going to see a lot of blowouts in some lesser bowls.

Boise St. getting snubbed again is BULLSHIT!!

How TCU didn't move up 2 spots to get an automatic qualifier smells VERY FISHY to me.

The thing is that outside of the NCG, the rest of the Bowls are shows put on by the hosts and host cities. You don't gain anything by winning them versus losing them. The conferences do get a payoff, hence the auto-bids for the conferences who invest the most in it, but the goal of the Bowls in this flawed system is to get a good matchup and a fanbase that will travel.

That is why Michigan and Virginia Tech got in and Kansas State did not.

In addition, teams SHOULD NOT be punished for losing a chamiponship game since it was an award for good play that they were even invited. that is my biggest issue with Bama being in the title game over Oklahoma State, even though it helped get the Hokies in (which I think they deserved)

Until the system is changed, you have to think of it as one championship game and four exhibitions.

In addition Boise State deserved to get in, however how Kansas State and Stanford were ranked as high as they were perplexes me. They both had one very very close good win and Stanford had a blowout loss while Kansas State had 2 regular season losses, one of which was to a terrible Oklahoma team.

If I had to pick four deserving at large teams, they were Alabama, Virginia Tech, Boise State and one of Stanford or Michigan State.

I don't care about who travels well. The most important thing should be a good matchup.

TCU was ranked 18th going into the weekend. All they needed was to move up 2 spots to get an automatic birth. Michigan St. lost. Virginia Tech got BLOWN OUT by a team ranked behind TCU. Oklahoma got blown out by Okie St. yet TCU doesn't move up 2 spots. It's BULLSHIT.

Boise St. ranked in the top 10 all year doesn't get a chance to go to a BCS game. That's another crime.

The bottom line is the BCS needs to be blown up.

So you want to punish Virginia Tech for winning their division (something that Bama, Stanford, Michigan, et al... did not do) and having to play an extra game which they lost?

At the same time you have a problem with Bama getting the week off??

Consistency my man. Virginia Tech lost ONE regular season game to a team in the top 15. TCU lost to Southern Methodist. If you are in a weak conference, you HAVE to win those games. Boise deserved to be in it. Stanford also lost one game, in a blowout to a highly ranked team. Michigan State lost TWICE, didn't win their division, and lost to horrible Iowa. Kansas State lost to horrible Oklahoma. You can mix and match it all you want but TCU cannot afford the mistakes that other AQ teams can because they play in a weaker conference.

I am under the belief that the best two teams should play each other every year. Sadly with this system, it is not the case. I especially hate automatic bids for conference winners oh so very much. I think that 1 should play 2. 3vs4, 5vs6, etc. If they are going to do a ranking system, why not abide by it all the time?

I think they will get it right this year since only two teams have stood out IMO. Also, this is coming from a fan of a non-conference team :)

Problem is #2 was decided by a biased coaches and media poll Okie state had a far better strength of schedule than Bama and a conference championship .Fact is the bcs system is a mess and until they fix it there will never be a true champion in college football.

I've made my feelings clear about the National Championship game on the main forum. Check the pile your hate thread.

Virginia Tech has no business being in a BCS game over Boise St. The ACC was horrible this year & they got two teams in the BCS. If the BCS wanted two Big Ten teams Michigan St should have gotten the nod. Michigan DIDN'T beat anybody. Heck they lost to Iowa. This is the good ol boy network at it's finest.

1. Based on what?
2. How is that Virginia Tech's fault?

Next point.....

If the ACC didn't deserve a second bid, who did?

And next point....

I have said that Boise deserved a spot. My argument is that Virginia Tech deserved one as well, over Michigan, Michigan St., TCU, Kansas State and Stanford.

And lastly....

I have read your take on the NCG. However you use the exact same logic to claim that Bama does not deserve to be in the NCG (get to sit home while others have to keep playing) to punish Virginia Tech (who HAD to play in a CCG, which you summarily punish them for). That is a bit odd...hmmm......

I stated above who I thought deserved a BCS bid, Boise St. They were in the top 10 all season. Va Tech & Michigan are very lucky USC is on probation. Matt Barkley & company would definately get a bid.

Virginia Tech got it's butt kicked TWICE by Clemson. Coming into the conference title game Clemson was playing like absolute crap & they still won big.

Sorry, but VA TECH is a very overrated football team.

The BCS needs to be scrapped. It's a joke.

You know very little about college football. You know there are FOUR at large bids right. So we get it, Boise deserves to be in. Who are the other three. USC would only get in if Stanford was left out, as a conference can only have two tams. :L

You seem to only talk about the 2 losses the Hokies have and ignore the 11 wins, like most people who don't actually pay attention to college football.

Teams lose....it happens....ask every team but LSU this year.....

Stick to hockey......you are WAY THE FUCK out of your league on this tiger....
