OT: A very sad day

Not sure if any of you saw it, but 4 young men from my town lost their lives in a MVA on Saturday. The 4 played football at our local HS in Linwood, NJ. 1 was a sr. and the other 3 were on jrs. We knew 2 of the kids and spent last night with the families and tonight at a vigil. Very sad!!!!!

Kinda hoping the whole story does not make it out, but its just a matter of time. The school is only 1600. We had a few thousand there last night. In a true showing of class and sportsmanship, our main rival, Holy Spirit, showed up as a team. On the way out, my wife and I got stuck in the middle of their team. We made sure the boys knew what a classy move it was to show up and support their rival.

The only thing CSN is reporting is that the 4 were heading out to eat to celebrate their final football practice.

If the story grows bigger it'll only be because one of the parents of the fallen open up to the press.

I say just leave them be and let the mourning process begin.

Crazy stories arer starting to come out. The son of one of our best friends is a sophmore. At the vigil they went over to one of the sr. and started hugging him and thanking him. Apparently the so. was ready to pile into the car and was going to sit on the lap on one of the other kids (one that was ejected). The sr., a starting db, came over and grabbed him and said he was not going in that car but would go with him. The sr. really did not know him, but did not like what was going on in that car and would not let him go. Saved his life. This DB was one of the best players on the team last year and I was going to contact my schools coach. After hearing this, I will be making thta call today.
