Add UCLA to this list

all three lost a pretty good amount of talent to the NFL. Oregon's defense is 2010 Michigan-esque, Stanford OL sucks.

Shitty coaching and Shitty recruiting.

Shaw has used up Harbaugh's players and Helfrich has all but used up Kelly's players.

What I can't figure out is why ND and MSU suck.

Graduation and recruiting. They're not a team that can reload year after year.

Not sure about ND though.

Really?

Shaw is a nobody. Stanford admission standards are off the charts. Basically, they don't recruit all that much nor do they RS or push out non-contributors.

Stick a fork in Stanford, they can't recover.

Oregon? They'll spend money, they'll hire a new coach and they'll recruit.
You're wrong...they'll be fine...they're not going to reload ala 'bama or Ohio State...but they'll be just fine because of how they play and the school...

Tom Herman would be a good fit at Oregon. I think Oregon comes back. Too much money and fan support. True they don't have any history but they have the resources now.

Stanford will always be a cyclical school. The fact they had such a long streak of being good is crazy. It's hard to find that many smart athletic players, let alone finding that many smart athletes that are fine sitting behind other guys. Half of Stanford's stars from the past few years would've normally went somewhere else and been stars and the smartest kids on the team.

How often have the academic standard of a conference stayed true to academics and been good too...Northwestern and Vandy calling you guys.

yeah we had a fairly good run under Franklin for his 3 years, first time we ever had more than one bowl game in a row, two 9-4 seasons and we beat Georgia and Florida in the same season for the first time ever. We're never going to be some national power, but I'm happy when we play hard and occasionally pop up and ruin someones day

It's not a knock, you guys all have a huge disadvantage which is why I'm saying Stanford being good for as long as they were was the exception not the rule and they shouldn't get knocked as though they were ever in Alabama's league.
