Ok, don't beat me up but at the very least let me amuse some of you...

Would some of you think its feasible to add Adrian Peterson to our backfield this year at a reasonable price should we guarantee him the starting spot? When I say reasonable, I mean $6-$8M per year on a 2 year deal w/guaranteed money. Fat Rob can spell him say qtr 2 and qtr 4 with a few series not only allowing AP to keep his 30 year old legs fresh but to learn from an all time great. Looks like the Vikings may cut AP but talk has been centered on AP looking to not only win, but perhaps take a back up role with a contender. While the Skins may not be in the upper tier of teams contending, his presence alone along with resigning Kirk long term will go a long way towards climbing the ladder into the discussion should we add a LG and say, resign DJax & Davis to go along with Doctson, Crowder & Reed. Thoughts?

Hell no for me. Hes gonna be 31 next year and hasnt looked very good in a while now. Plus he'll be expensive for a RB. We can get a RB way cheaper in the draft who will likely be more effective anyways.

Nope, resigning Kirk and bringing back the entire cast from last year offensively only nets 8 or 9 wins because I believe that we have seen the best of Cousins and that there will be another step back.. If you add AP, improve the defense that takes you to 9 or 10 wins if everything goes perfectly (BIG IF) and maybe a wildcard spot. Go with a younun from the draft, likely Mixon.

I think it is a legit question BUT we seem to like to air it out, and if the run game isn't going quickly -- we abandon it. Adrian needs touches, and may check out mentally and become a vocal distraction if we start losing.
Throw in his injury history and I'd pass. I want to believe Matt Jones is going to turn the corner this year and be a short yardage beast. He also dissed us by saying he'd go to the Giants

Stymietee our skins will not draft Mixon. We don't need an every down back LOL. But we like Junior Galette on our team and he has a video of him beating a woman with a belt on a beach.
There is Tyreek hill also and plenty more who are currently playing in the NFL. Now I not for having players with many issues. I just think Joe is being treated unfairly for a one time offense. He just turned 18 when all this happen. We have all did stupid things when we were 18. Anyone who gets in my face and bitch slap me, well there's no telling what I will do male or female. Any ways who ever drafts him will not be sorry. I have feeling he will be drafted at all.

The good news for the team the ultimately gets him is that they will immediately realize that they have committed grand larceny in this drafting season. Dude can play and at a very high level. Glad to know that there are others here who agree with me , Good post R4209....Thanks!!!

most of the reservations surrounding Mixon are because of his off field issues when he was 18 years old. Dude is a 1st round talent and could certainly solve our RB issues. However, because of his history, most mocks have him going somewhere between 2nd and 4th rounds. I can see second, but there ought to be an investigation and theft charges bought for anyone getting him in rounds 3 or lower. Where in the draft would you feel comfortable getting him?

There's a lot of talk of him being straight up undrafted. I don't think that will happen but don't be surprised if he lasts till the 5th or 6th.

i think for us round 4 but it all depends on what we do in FA . if you walk away with a hankins logan and berry on defense and resign baker then that changes needs drastically from a pure hypothetical view point . that means if you feel like you have to use a 2nd rounder on him it doesnt sting as much

I believe in 2nd chances but knowing the leagues stance on domestic violence this guy is one mistake from done forever. It will be interesting to see where he lands in the draft.

If the kid is all that, can be a legit primary RB, can play all 3 downs if need be, can be taught to p/u blitzes and block or already is capable of these things. I'd say the right spot would be no lower than the 2nd rd.

I'm all for taking "flyers" (SDads word) on 1st-2nd round talent in rounds 5-7 despite personal issues. They could get their stuff together and be a steal.. or they could get in trouble or flame out. Wouldn't be any different than the other 50 practice squad players we've drafted in the late rounds over the last 10 years. At least Mixon has considerably upside.
