Vince Young would have been a bust if Houston had drafted him.

How is that even debatable anymore? I thought getting rid of Alex Smith was a terrible decision by San Fran from the moment they did it.
I, like most 49er fans, did not. Kaepernick looked so dominant the first year or so, so even though I felt like Smith got the shaft I understood it.

Mike Ditka was a below average to mediocre Head Coach - Whose only success can be contributed to his historically great defense (which he had nothing to do with) and Walter Payton. Never sniffing another SB after Buddy Ryan left following the 85 season.

The 2nd best Chicago Bears team of the SB era was the 2011 Bears before Cutler and Forte went down for the season in a span of 3 weeks. Then lost 5 straight to miss the playoffs with Caleb Hanie at QB. After an up-and-down first month. The D was playing as good as they ever had under Lovie and they had posted 30+ offensively in 5 straight victories. They finally had the offense to put with that defense, and it all fell apart with two injuries.

The easiest trap to fall into is falling in love with the athletic QB getting off to a hot career start. QB's who can run often bypass a lot of the initial learning curves of the NFL that a pocket passer has no choice but to face. Often, though (not always) they plateau/decline and the pocket passer passes them up.

Yep. It didn't take the league long to figure out he was a one-trick pony. One read then off he'd run. The phobia he developed of the middle of the field ended his career.

Trading for alex smith was a horrendous move

I agree. There was zero reason for them to run Kirk Cousins out of town by low-balling him when their alternative plan was to trade for a QB who is 4 years older and arguably no better. Like the RGIII heist they let the Rams pull off on them, it's just another classic example of how incompetent that franchise is from the top down.

Jeff Fisher helped out the franchise, they were a dumpster fire when he took over. He made them competitive.

Well, a good portion of the Steeler fanbase thinks coach cool shades (Mike Tomlin) is a great coach. I dont
I don't like Tomlin and never have.

Tom Brady is the GOAT

The Steelers are looong overdue for a decade of 1980s suckage/Bubby Brister/Mark Malone type of QB issues.

It can be from the past, or present. Both online interactions and fans you've met in person count. What are opinions that you have about the team that are unpopular within their specific fan base?

For the Vikings

1. Adrian Peterson held the team back for years - For as amazing of an uphill runner as he was in his prime, they'd have been better off diversifying the offense instead of giving him the record RB deal a few years before he was out of his prime. The building a team around an RB formula was destined for failure.

2. Teddy Bridgewater was never that great - in fact, I thought he was a reach even at #32 in the draft. He will not do anything in the NFL after that injury. For whatever reason though, much of our fan base acted like he was the second coming of Peyton Manning despite him never proving to be beyond average at best.

3. Case Keenum was never anything special and 2016 was a mirage - There are quite a few Vikings fans who were deluded into thinking he is better than Cousins.

I'll roast you for #2. I wanted Bridgewater on the Browns and would take a few years of Bridgewater mediocrity if you wanna take on the JFF flameout disaster

Mike Pettine was an amazing coach who should still be there today

I don't know about amazing, but he wasn't a bad coach at all.

Here's another one:

Sashi was right all along and his plan is playing out beautifully.

More for the Vikings.

Mike Zimmer still hasn't proven to be that amazing of a coach. The bulk of the Zimmer defense was built via FA aquisitions and players drafted before him during the Frazier and Childress eras.

Brad Childress would have ended being a pretty decent NFL HC had the team just been able to hit on an above average QB besides one year of rolling out Favre in a wheelchair resulting in a magical 2009 season. Part of their inability to do this was his own fault, but my point still stands.

Choosing Colin Kaepernick over Alex Smith was the best thing for the 49ers.
