The Redskins on Wednesday claimed former Denver Broncos center J.D. Walton off of waivers and released wide receiver Lance Lewis, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports.
A third-round pick out of Baylor in 2010, Walton started every game of his first two seasons, and the first four of his third season. But he broke an ankle and missed the remainder of the season. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound Walton, who played at Baylor with quarterback Robert Griffin III, hadn’t played a game this season and was released by Denver on Tuesday.

Time to make Robert feel comfy.

OK seriously though, aside from my snarky disposition at the moment, not a bad move if he can get that Ankle healthy.

I'm sure the unnamed sources will confirm this is just the first step to bringing Briles into the fold. Next step, green uniforms.

If we bring in Briles, I would hope the next move would be Gregg Williams as DC. Dan would have to give up the left low hanger to get him here. But boy would FIX the defense in short order.

From what I've heard Briles hasn't been outside of Texas in his life. I guess that was to sway my opinion of him

why die a thousand deaths waiting for the "bad " to happen ?. sit back have a positive attitude and see what plays out before you go miserable

life is too short for all that negativity

soon you will be buried and eaten by worms never to be heard from again . enjoy life now

Or like my CO always said, be prepared for the worst. that way if its less than the worst you can actually smile, and either way you are less likely to end up disappointed. If Im wrong, things actually go right for the Skins. If Im right, well hell i expected it so I cant really be disappointed at that point.

I like the signing of Walton.

I hate the idea of Gregg Williams. That would mean the 4-3 is back.

GK.... We are going to be making major changes on the defense any way. We go to a 4-3 ad keep Rak, Riley and Kerrigan as the starting LBs. We are basically screwt and have to bring in atleast 2 DBs any way assuming we resign Merriweathe. So would it be easier to find a DT and a DE, or a true NT a starting ILB and likely a 3-4 DE??
