Valentin was fun to watch. I was actually mad when Nomar came up and moved him to third!

Nixon was one of my favorite Sox outfielders as well, but I always loved how effortless Drew made everything look. He also came through in some pretty big spots as well (2007 ALCS, 2008 ALDS Game 2, 2008 ALCS Game 5, his entire June 2008 when Ortiz hit the DL) which left a pretty big impression on me. A nice yin to the yang of Nixon's all out effort.

Valentin was a very underrated player. Didn't exactly light up the minors, but he hit very well for an infielder (.279/.360/.454, had a 134 OPS+ between 1994-95). I still think he got robbed in the '95 AL MVP voting. Sorry but I just don't see how a 1st baseman was more valuable than his shortstop teammate when there's a 6 point gap in their OPS+, especially when the latter was a very fine fielder. Crazy to think the two of them were teammates in college (with Biggio!)

I thought about doing Beltre, but I tried to keep it to players with more than one season. Beltre was a blast to watch though.

I mostly love Krukkie in the booth, but he only played 302 games in left field (compared to 678 at 1B). I might put Bull there instead.

I do like the Bobby Abreu love though. Did you catch him in the booth this past August when he was inducted into the Phillies Wall of Fame (I think we were playing the White Sox in the game)?

Saunders is not that bad, you lack perspective. The pool to choose the best players from is a pretty small one but the pool for favourites is enormous.
