Auburn (wins over LSU, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Mississippi State)
Nebraska (wins over Missouri and Oklahoma State)
Wisconsin (wins over Ohio State and Iowa)

If Missouri and Oklahoma State keep winning, it is quite apparent the computers are going to be making mad love to Nebraska.

To project the future, it needs to be projected for everyone to be legit.

Alabama controls their own destiny in the "should Oregon play Auburn for the NC" debate.

Bama actually plays BCS #2 Auburn and they'll get a lot of mileage out of that in the computers and minds of the pollsters if they win.

They already have a win over #18 Arkansas..

They also play #10 LSU, #20 Mississippi St. and a possible rematch with #19 South Carolina in the CCG.

Couple that with the ESPN flavor of the year 'Saban luv' and it's going to be difficult for either Boise or the TCU/Utah winner to overcome...Let alone one of the other one loss teams.

Bama will get computer credit for avenging their loss to S. Carolina..Nebraska won't get any credit (it would actually hurt their current credit) for beating Oklahoma St again..

Nebraska must play a 'one loss' Oklahoma in the CCG to improve their computer strength, and hope it's enough to get them past undefeated Boise and the TCU/Utah winner should Auburn and Alabama slip up.

^^^^ That is all absolutely correct. And to be honest, it's dumb that Alabama is ranked as high as they are right now beings that they haven't really done anything except beat an overrated Arkansas team. There is a reason that Alabama is #15 in the computers right now, but you're right, they are going to skyrocket if they win out.

But I think if Nebraska wins out, with wins over Missouri (who is high in the computers), Oklahoma State (who is high in the computers), and then hopefully a one loss Oklahoma who would be high in the computers, would be enough to possibly jump the FCS teams.....................did I say FCS? That was mean of me...........I meant to say the mid-majors. :D

Nebraska will stand no chance as long as Oregon wins out, and there is at least a 1-loss SEC champion.

Nebraska has an slim chance to get there even if Oregon, Boise and the TCU/Utah winner finish unbeaten.

1. Win out the regular season.
2. Have the Bama/Auburn winner lose the SEC CCG
3. Have Missouri win out the regular season.
4. Have Oklahoma win out the regular season.
5. Have Oklahoma St win all but the Oklahoma game.
6. Beat Oklahoma in the Big XII CCG
7. Rely on at least some humans in the Coaches and Harris Polls to look at the body of work and rank NU ahead of Boise and the TCU/Utah winner. "BCS, That's why they make that call!!"
8. Be close enough points wise that the computer element of the formula boosts them above Boise St and the TCU/Utah winner.

#7 and #8 would be aided by Baylor, Oregon St, and Va Tech losing..

Baylor (7-2) Lost to TCU.. remaining schedule... @ Okla St, Tex A&M, Oklahoma (8-4?)
Oregon St (4-3) Lost to TCU and Boise.. remaining schedule...@ UCLA, Wash St, USC, @ Stanford, Oregon (6-6?)
Va Tech (6-2) Lost to Boise.. remaining schedule...Ga Tech, @ N. Carolina, @ Miami, Virginia, ACC CCG (?)

Here's somethin else to chew on...........what if LSU beats Alabama this weekend and then Alabama beats Auburn? Auburn holds the head to head with LSU, so they would still play for the SEC Championship.......that would make things very interesting.

I like your scenario

Late season loss = Not good in the human polls.

1. Auburn eliminated
2. Bama eliminated with 2 losses
3. LSU won't play in the SEC CCG

I'm sure LSU would jump up drastically in the BCS rankings since they are already tied for 6th with Nebraska in the computers..........the humans would vote them up. But them not being able to play in the SEC Championship game would kill their chances.

LSU has a chance to kill off the SEC's chances completely this weekend. They get Bama at home......it could happen.

I agree, and it seems like the SEC will have a 1 loss or better champ and Oregon does not seem like they are going to lose. I am sure if we win out we will jump the mid majors but that still won't be enough.

I would take a conference title and fiesta bowl and enjoy it.

I'd be elated with a Big XII Championship, a 13-1 season, and a #2 or #3 final ranking.

If Nebraska wins out..That WILL happen.

Very true, that will be a quick turnaround from where we were 3 years ago.

Not to mention, think what a 13-1 season does for the confidence of a Freshman QB...........not like he doesn't have confidence already, but that would be huge.

We really need Missouri to win out badly........they're still 4th in the computers right now. I think they are going to win out and they will be somewhere in the top 10 for sure.

NU would start Top 5 easily in 2011.

They'll lose to Kansas..Turner Gill sacrificed the entire season to give the KU boosters a win over rival Missouri..:D

I know that would hurt NU a in the BCS standings but I would love to see that happen. I enjoyed the Mizzou vs Navy bowl game so much last year.

This is so true, I was thinking this as well, what if we had to play Baylor in the CCG, a win there would probly drop us out of the top 10
