A Connecticut 10th-grade hockey player has died after falling to the ice and being cut on the neck by the skate of another player during a game.

It used to be I dreaded those road trips through California as the Sharks, Kings, and especially Ducks gave the Flames all kinds of trouble. Now it's flipped to the southeast as Florida, Tampa Bay, and Carolina are giving the Flames fits.

Funny, Western Canada has been that for the Devils forever. Even during the glory years we struggled in Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.
