Kraken played a good game. Should be a fun season for them.

It was entertaining... never regularly tuned in to hockey, but to this novice it was clear Vegas was the better team, but good to see the Kraken fight to come back.

But as someone who has followed the NHL before you'll learn quick that the refs are shit and they play favorites a lot. It is what it is.

Fun game.

That's how I saw it too. Skate was off the ice and the leg motions toward the puck as contact was made. Clearly a kick. And the announcers trying to make the argument it wasn't a kick because it was the outside of his foot was an absurd argument. I got a good laugh out of that. But as someone who has followed the NHL before you'll learn quick that the refs are shit and they play favorites a lot. It is what it is.

Fun game to watch though and definitely a lot of positives to take. Love the heart and grit, need to cut down on the turnovers.

Turned it off in the second, but I was impressed with the Krakens. They seemed to have some fight in them and Hakstol looks to have a decent system for what they have to work with. Without Grubauer's clear nerves at the beginning they might have won that one.

Is Price considered LTIR? Says $91 mil cap hit and $10 mil LTIR used.

Maybe he can be added if they need to but don't right now.

Either way, they'll basically have to add him if all those guys minus Weber come back at once. $91 mil minus Weber's $7.5 mil leaves them $2.5 mil off and my assumption is all of those 4 are expected back sooner than later.

You know, here's the thing - Injuries happen in sports and yeah it sucks, but teams have to deal with them. If you want this controversy to go away, there are two easy remedies.

1. Extend the salary cap throughout the playoffs or even better
2. Kill the salary cap and adopt a luxury tax

Does Nashville just not realize they have no offense whatsoever? Their top two centers scored at 47 and 43 pt paces over 82 games last season, and 1) neither of those guys were the two centers they’re paying a combined $16 mil to, and 2) one of them they lost for nothing in the expansion draft.

Then they traded Ryan Ellis for nothing that will help them score.

What’s the end goal here? How aren’t they retooling or moving defence for help up front?
