Hearing a lot of talk on Fan 960 radio in Calgary that basically states that the Flames players will not miss Bob.

If Boudreau is the next Flames head coach, at least they will have hired a guy who knows how to win a game in Anaheim.

He is not my first choice but I'd be OK with BB being hired. At least he's established and has a winning track record.

With a somewhat unexpected change in Cgy, it seems more likely Utica coach, Travis Green is going to land one of the NHL jobs.

Yeah, that is weird.

I think it's because they have just relieved Boudreau of his duties but he still has a contract. If he signs with another team he voids the contract. I'd guess it's just a formality. I can't see a team refusing permission under these circumstances. Perhaps if it involved a division rival. Talk about generating bad blood though.

OK, I guess that makes sense. Didn't really think about the difference between "relieved of duties" vs. "fired" and the impact it would have.

Based on the presser, it sounds like there was a philosophical difference between BT and Hartley regarding style of play. BT wants more of a puck possession team and he didn't see that happening with Hartley at the helm.

I hate when you see good hockey coaches become available and then look at your own. And by "you" I mean "me". I hate when good coaches become available when I look at my coach. I'd take Bruce or Hartley in a second.

One year ago today was Game 2 of the Second Round of the playoffs between Anaheim and Calgary. Today, neither of the coaches in that game are employed.
