Well, Connor does bring a lot of hope to the Oilers (coincidentally that's where the movie "First Blood" was shot).

It's not my #1 but, like, it wasn't completely unbearable.I like *some* of Beyonce's music, and I love her because I like the way she handles herself. She does it with more class than a majority of celebs. Also, to back up BBB...Bieb's new album is pretty solid. It's so much better than his early crap. Keep in mind, I don't voluntarily listen to his music...but I won't complain if someone else puts it on (AKA all week I just spent with the softball team in Florida).

Maybe it could be a good spot for an Oiler fan internment camp?
Not all of us. I cannot stand her music. The one I dislike the most is Rhianna. I think she's a no talent skank and wish she would go away...
That could make for an interesting thread all by itself.
Caps switching up some lines in practice today with Jay Beagle playing wing on the top line with Ovechkin and Backstrom. Quote from OV...
""Maybe Oshie don't want to play with us."
I'll never understand the obsessions with either of them, but I feel like there will be university courses taught in the future about the effect Beyonce had on this generation of women.
Terrible musician though.
Beagle back with Ovechkin. I guess that things were going too well with all of the winning this year and they decided to go back to some of the old techniques.
Maybe OV has started to dog it in practice or maybe it's just a ruff patch? Could be that the press is hounding him?
Meh. You're right about degrees but I think there is value in examining how an individual can be so popular among the masses and genuinely influence culture (be it for better or worse). This is more evidence of what poor value a university degree has become than it is evidence of the importance of anything that Beyonce has done.

Well, it depends where they're taught. It's one thing if Ivy Leaguers or McGill/Queens/U of T were teaching them, quite another if SEC schools are using a course like that to convince football players to "student-athlete" for them.I think you're being awfully optimistic about what the focus of these courses will be.

Since Bieber was re-introduced into the thread, I feel compelled to let you guys know that I have failed as a parent. My daughters used to hate Justin Bieber, now they like him (especially his latest album).
/I feel great shame.
Lots of universities offer courses on the Beatles and while 3/4's of what you learn is pretty useful the last 1/4 was rather unimpressive and easily learned by reading the back of a ketchup bottle.Sometimes universities jump the gun on adding classes about people they assume will be of continued importance. My minor in Hammer Studies (about MC Hammer) is virtually worthless now.
