I could be wrong but after looking at hockey reference I think this game was Dec 23 1988. Tanti got 2 for roughing. a little over 2 minutes later Mike Krushelnyski got 5 and a game for spearing.

I went into "The Province" archives because I wanted to see what Tony Gallagher had to say about this lol ... different times ... there was no Province newspaper until the Dec 27 edition. December 26 the Canucks lost to the Flames and this is all that was mentioned about the Dec 23 game v the Kings
