Longer answer. Market is crap right now for established goalies like Markstrom and Ullmark. What is a 22 year old with 2 AHL seasons going to get in return? Arguably Wolf has compare potential, what wo he get you in a trade?

Best move for the Preds is to let him play 25-30 games and see what we have. Then reassess next off season. Also lets them dial back the wear and tear on Saros.

Best case: might have the next Swayman/Ullmark tandem.

He was probably in line for a 2 year deal right up until Alexander Nylander showed up. Versatile bottom six guy who can do some eye opening things, but ultimately not consistent enough in effort or results. Jackets fans fell in love with him and I am not looking forward to the whining.

We have Marchenko, Sillinger and Johnson to sign and hopefully have Lindholm on the radar still. This gives some flexibility. Wish the kid luck.
