Didn't see this here and didn't know it happened until about 2 minutes ago. Walman's been pretty good for Detroit, they had to trade him and attach a 2nd rounder because...?

he is only making $3.4M

12 goals after a 9 goal season shows upside even for 29 so why give up 2 assets for futures?

Also they have two worse defencemen on the roster that they could've gotten rid of instead if they need cap space.

I'm less impressed by anything Yzerman's done by the day. He needs to swing big here.

doesn't seem they needed room for cap space. maybe they are emptying the cupboard getting ready for a big July 1st....

From one Connor to another.

Can't imagine it will be easy to bring Corey Perry with him.

Good for agents and washed up players perhaps.

It's becoming more clear with each passing year that Jim Nill was the real brains of that collaboration. Also, Swedish wonder scout Hakan Andersson did a fine job finding all those good Swedes for Holland.

He needs to go to a team that’s going to make the playoffs, so his streak ends
Or if your team has playoff aspirations you don’t touch him? In that case Calgary and Pittsburgh are in play. :D

Okay, hear me out. Next year (2024-25) doesn't really matter all that much to me as I think the Flames will not be very good. It's the 2025-26 year that the Flames need to be terrible in order to draft Gavin McKenna.
