Arizona Coyotes trade talks for Jakob Chychrun picking up | TSN

With Jakob Chychrun healthy and producing for the Arizona Coyotes and it appears trade talk surrounding the defenceman could be intensifying.

Is it just me or is there literally not a single team where a trade for him makes sense? Just looking down the list of teams in a playoff spot, they all have someone already who fills the role Chychrun would take. I would've thrown Carolina out there before they got Burns for free, adding Chychrun would basically be like putting Burns and Karlsson together again which didn't work the first time.

The only two teams where it maybe makes sense is the Pens if Letang is done and St. Louis who aren't in a playoff spot and I doubt are interested in trading an unprotected pick right now. Maybe Montreal if they keep hanging around the wild card spot but again, they're sure as shit not giving up unprotected picks.

And to boot, how much more does an expensive (in trade assets) Chychrun bring to the table over his teammate Gostisbehere who you can probably have on the cheap and is UFA after the year?

I feel like if anybody was going to pay the price AZ wants for their oft-injured but very talented 1LD it would've been paid by now. They're selling in an ultimate buyers' market. Find it hard to believe it when Dreger says "there’s also a group of teams that are getting to a point that they realize they may have to" pay a shit ton for him.
