Caps are definitely going down in the first round. They've played like one of the worst teams in the league for a few weeks now.

I think they've just taken their foot off the gas because they've locked up the division and they're just playing out the string of regular season games. Columbus is still mathematically alive for the playoffs and it shows today.

i hope that's the case, but there are some fundamentals a little off right now. Transition game has looked bad.

Injuries will play a big part - their best defender, best forward, and starting goalie are all out right now. That has an impact. We'll see.

I think Ottawa could be really dangerous this year.

Yeah, I think the axiom "Injuries are not an excuse" is one of the dumbest sayings in sport. I mean, I get the spirit of the thought, but when multiple key players are out, there's no denying the negative impact it has on the team.

So, it seems the refs gave Voronkov a 10 minute misconduct with 8 to go, and told him so. He nodded and went to the bench. Refs didn't tell Evason or anyone else.

Voronkov doesn't speak English, so he just went out on the power play and got another penalty. He didn't understand what the ref said. Not sure I've ever seen that before.



We're gonna get curb-stomped tomorrow, but once everyone started playing hockey this has been a fun game with a little bit of everything.
