I have a pretty good complete 1st round mock, but will hold up posting that for a little while yet.
However, barring any trades (which I'm sure there will be), here's what we could potentially see from the Chipster:
1. Jaelen Strong, WR
2. Laken Tomlinson, OL
3. Byron Jones, CB
4. Ty Montgomery, WR
5. Ibraheim Campbell, S
5. Tony Washington, OLB
6. Adrian Amos, S
7. Bryan Bennett, QB

Pick it apart.

While I like both Strong and Tomlinson as prospects, I don't think either are great fits for our style of Offense. I think at receiver you want guys who can get quick initial separation; Strong is a down field jump ball winner type at the moment. He has excellent body control on contested balls his way and beats defenders that way. He is not a good route runner yet and in Chip's system running strong routes are a must. 2 guys I'm high on for our Offense whom I've mentioned prior are Nelson Aghholor and Tyler Lockett ... I would love either in Rd 2. At Guard I think Tomlinson is going to be very good in a traditional style, but I'm not sure he's a 2nd level type Guard and doesn't look to be guy who could keep up in a hurry up style. We need athletic Guards with great cardio who can keep up with a hurry up style; it's why I think they like Ali Marpet. Love Byron Jones the more I watch of him ... he just needs to do a better job of turning his head because that will draw a bunch of Pass Int flags at the next level.

I will do some looking up on Campbell and Amos ... don't know much about either guy.

Thanks Rey. I can count on you to be objective.

Campbell is a Philly guy, and Amos is Penn State (I'm unashamedly biased).

I agree with you on Agholor, and the Eagles are too. I wanted him in rd 2 or 3, but I think he may not be there. Would you draft him in the 1st? Lockett and Philip Dorsett are exciting, but I feel they are more slot receivers, and chip plans to keep Matthews in the slot for mismatches, I think.

I also think they will go for Marpet. I put Tomlinson in there, since he can play G or T.
Byron Jones has super natural ability, and needs coaching, which I hope he will get now that they have a better DB coach. Lyght, althoug a former all-pro, was not a good coach.

I don't know if Chip values receiver enough to take in one in the 1st. Personally I wouldn't take Agholor in Rd 1 despite liking him ... receiver is deep enough where there should be value in the 2nd even if he's gone before our pick.

I like some of the players here. Getting Campbell in round 5 might prove to be a steal.

Well, I just hope Chip takes the BPA approach in each round unless he makes a slight trade up for a postion of need, and not reach like they did last year. Even though Rey and i disagree a little on Jaelen Strong in the 1st - remember, that Chip likes the bigs when he can get them. Maybe later he can get a speedster like Dorsett or another smurf to stretch the field.

Strategically, I would be disappointed is Chip goes WR in the first round. I know he needs to add a body at some point, but the bigger needs are in the defensive backfield. Or the opportunity to add a dominant lineman. You will be able to find a WR who can contribute in the 2nd or 3rd rounds.

Yes, he will find a "contributor", but I would like a stud WR, which we don't have. I realize that Chip wants to run the ball and spread the catches around, but i think a stud opens up the other guys, as we used to have. If the BPA is a WR, then we take him, if not, then I certainly don't want to reach, and we take a S, OL, or CB.

I really like Jalen Strong, Philly guy can flat out play. However the best comparisons I can make on him is Jordan Mathews. If Chip doesn't want to play Mathews outside then he won't play Strong outside either. Right now for a team that likes to spread out defenses we simply don't have any outside receivers. Cooper is ok as a 3rd guy, Huff stinks and even if he takes the 2nd year leap its wont be anything very good, ceiling is a 2nd receiver.

I personally think he is going to go after Jake Fisher in round 1. It just makes so much sense. You can plug and play him at RG this year. Then when Peters retires you can move Fisher to right tackle and Johnson to left tackle. Fisher is the athletic lineman that Chip likes and Oh he is a Duck. Number 1 thing you need to be to be an Eagle right now.

Love Adrian Amos and he does fit what Chip wants to do, but there is zero chance he will be there in round 6. Too many teams need safeties. He could go as high as the third round.

I doubt he goes WR in the first. There's too many good ones this year and he has Matthews and his rb's. He'll get one later.

As long as he gets a speedy WR with skills, I don't care what round(s) they are. We need 2 more, I believe.
By the way, i slotted these guys from a list of prospects, so yes, they may be taken much earlier than I have listed them. Thanks for your inputs.

I like Strong and think he would be good in this offense, running screens, blocking etc. I agree that Tomlinson maybe is not a good fit for our style of play though.

Corner seems the logical pick in the first. They have that big gaping whole opposite Maxwell and their seems like there are several good prospects that will likely be sitting there at 20.

By comparison at WR, you could do well with a receiving core than Matthews, Huff, Cooper, Ertz and Sproles. They have weapons, they just are not all labeled WR.

While I really like a lot of the guys you have in this mock, esp strong and tomlinson, I don't know that I see Chip going this route. The draft is deep at wr and Tomlinson doesn't have the athleticism that Chip covets. I think Fisher is the most likely pick in round 1. If Fisher is already off the board I could see us going with Strong then maybe Marpet in the 2nd. With our needs along the line and one of Chip's Oregon boys available, it just makes too much sense.

I actually think we can trade down and still get Fisher ... while he fits our system and has the obvious Duck factor, he's ranked as the 5th to 7th best Tackle on most rankings which puts him in the early Rd 2 area. La'El Collins is the Tackle I have my eye on at 20 ... especially if we are going to be running the ball as much as I think we will. Collins is a road grader you can just plug in at Guard from Day 1. I think there's a 50/50 chance he's there at our pick. If not T/G I think Corner will be seriously considered; I'd be surprised if we go Rd 1 WR.
