A- eh. That's extremely generous.
And what improvement of Smith and continued excellence of Murphy? WTF is dude talking about?
The Good:
The Skins tied with 2 other teams for 9th best in team sacks in the NFL this year with 38. The OLBs, Kerrigan 11, Murphy 9, Smith 4.5, accounted for 24.5 sacks or 64.4% of those. Murphy imo should be given props as not only did no one expect those number of sacks from him. He had to switch back to the LB position after spending all TC beefing up to play DE.
The Bad:
But when factoring in the Skins inability to get off the field on 3rd down. They allowed the 2nd most 3rd dn conv in the NFL with 97 topping every team, but Firsco with 102. They also were the worst 3rd dn defense percentage-wise in the NFL, 97/208 or 47%. That stains everything and anything that the Skins defense did stat-wise. And it should also be said that the OLBs were poor against the run. Far too many times they just voluntarily ran themselves out of running plays to their side.
My grade would be a C.
