I agree with @cdumler7 - there is literally nothing out there better than Okung. I think the Broncos need a guy who can step In at RT and switch over to LT in a couple of years. Draft pick probably, but I do expect a FA OG signed for the right side (mainly because there is depth at that position in FA).

I wouldn't call him the best LT in football anymore. He has dropped off just a bit. Honestly instead of trading for Thomas I would rather us go after Whitworth. He had a much better season than Thomas this past year and won't cost us a draft pick.

I doubt it. If we do it will be on an incentive contract with a low cap number. My guess is Clady retires.

I am surprised the Broncos don't seem inclined to use their option on Okung to keep him - I'm not surprised if they thought they could get him to discount from what was on the table.

There are no obvious answers in FA - and while the draft is an option - it seems dubious that the Broncos who want to win the Super Bowl every year - would tie their hands to drafting a top tackle - and use him as a rookie for blind side protection. I guy like Bolles for instance - who I like a lot - would not seem ready to start at LT.

These are the kind of situations where you just have to trust that JE has a pretty good plan.

With now Beachum, Whitworth, and Albert hitting the market I'm hoping Okung realizes his price keeps dropping the more options teams have. Don't be surprised if Jason Peters joins them from Philly. Makes it much easier for teams to negotiate from a position of power when they can go to a player and give their price and when they turn it down just go make that same offer to the next guy on their list. We saw it with DRC when he declined our offer so we just went to Talib and offered pretty much the same deal. DRC then had to sign for even less with the Giants because market closed that quickly.

I still remember that scenario, and I loved it. I wanted to keep DRC even over Talib, (who knew), but sometimes you just love how Karma (if I believed in that) works.
