With that train of thought if Cousins went to New England he would be a winner. :thumb: Let me rephrase, more of a winner.

Sure. Winner is a dumb term imo. Theres good players and not as good players. The good players win more than the not as good players.

Id easily take Kizer over Watson. Watson is no more inherently a winner than Kizer is. But Kizer has a better arm, better touch, better accuracy, and better pocket presence.

I respect that. Kizer and Tribusky have not looked good in the games ive seen of them.
Watson on the other hand, even with the turnovers has never looked out of a game this year.
Really I think the only QB that will have a bad career will be the rookie drafted by the Browns.
Linebacker seems to be the only position of improvement.

Agreed. BUt Watson at present has one thing Kizer doesnt that will weigh in his favor if and when the powers at Ashburn sit around the table....

Wow factor. I know I know, it shouldnt matter. And he shouldnt have all that much weight in this matter. But you got to know Dan looked at that bowl game and saw hearts and stars around this kid. Just be extremely thankful he didnt win the Heisman to boot.

SO I tend to take a household budget approach with all this.

Sure I COULD take the entire paycheck, drop it on the powerball and I MIGHT come out a whole lot better in this.

Or I COULD pay the Mortgage ( resign Kirk), Invest some of what i have left after all the bills ( Draft and Free Agency), then use some of my discretionary funds to get wild and drop a few bucks on the powerball any way ( the splashy free agency move or the dreaded draft trade)

If your household could play QB this would be relevant!

If I felt fairly confident we would find a better QB your lottery approach would be more relevant as well too.

Honestly, you don't have to be confident in the way I see things, I do. I'm sure that you feel confident in the way that you hope things to go as well, we happen to disagree, what the problem is?:rolleyes2:

Hold on...did somebody suggest we only get a first and a 3rd next season? Garroppolo has a bigger asking price.

Got to admire Deans singular focus on this one. Its all about the money.

Reality is, its LEAST about the Amount of money.

Its more about, does the team want to commit to Cousins long term.
Does Cousins fit into the Vision of a QB that the GM and Owner want?
Does Kirk actually WANT to stay here or would he rather be with Kyle and a front office that wants him as apposed to one acting as if they are doing this because they dont really have a choice.
This. The money is not the issue.

Garroppolo has a bigger asking price because the Patriots would sooner keep him than let him walk for nothing.

If you listen to the we can do better crowd and Peter Dinklage could win ten games with the talent around Kirk... then why would a team give up two first rounders for a QB that the team is wishy washy on to begin with??

We need to get past the concept that we are going to fleece some one for a player we are only marginally committed to in the first place. Would you give up top dollar for an item that the owner says, well I really just want it gone, but Im not going to take less than top dollar for???

Side note, I dont think the Patriots are asking for two first rounders for Grap, which is what people are expecting (hoping) we will get for Cousins.

But see you can't have it both ways. In your first post you said Kizer would win as much as Watson if he played for Clemson. Good players win more than the not as good players. So is Kizer a not as good player since Watson won more? :noidea:

I don't think it contradicts. Being on a good team means you win more as does being a good player. Kizer was a good player on a worse team and Watson was a good player on a better team. There's no inherent winningness to a player outside of talent though.

Yeah mostly I was just being contrary. You can't just go with QBs who win in college because many play in offenses that do not translate to the NFL or their skills do not transfer to the NFL. :suds:
