Those guards gotta block some crazy talented and deep interior defensive linemen. We've all seen how disruptive a good interior pass rush is. Good guards or interior blockers in general are not a dime a dozen.
. For me it's more about how people view the position. People seem to think they're just not that important which is far from the case, imo.
Hence why 2 of the top 5 highest paid o/ lineman are OGS by trade

It's just the fact of the matter dad, guard in this league is the easiest positon to replace on offense, period. Like the draft, we could get immense value from a second tier guard while able to pay another position of need in FA like corner back. Maximize your value, don't put all your eggs in one basket. Aside from that, if BS really wanted to be in WASH, he would work with his agent to hammer out a deal that places him here for the next 5 seasons.

I think timing has everything to do with it more so than guard having anything to do with it.

Since this is going to be a bridge year with Fitz at QB having Scherff just for one more season makes no sense I could see a trade happening and they sign a Trai Turner or another free agent

If this is true then screw you Scherff. why would he turn down the deal for being the highest paid OG? He probably wants to hit FA just like KC did. Its all about the money.

I really like Brandon, I just don't know how many games i'll get from him.
He's not a guy RR brought in, so he may also feel that position is better to just replace in the draft.
Brandon will get paid somewhere, if it isn't here.
