The second big weekend of the year. It's not going to be as LARGE as the Fresno State game but it could be just as important. Here's the list as of this Tuesday, I think it could grow however. Big deal that this is a 2:30 game and not an 11am game.
Joseph Lewis (5-Star, WR) [Los Angeles, CA] - Lewis has fallen in love with Nebraska of late and really likes coach Williams as well. He changed his visit from Fresno to Illinois to come later in the year and to be around less of his friends on his visits. Lewis's HS coaches are supposedly coming as well and his parents may be too. USC seems to be the front runner for Lewis but their 1-3 start with the question marks at HC has put Nebraska in prime position. A strong showing on Saturday could go a long way for Lewis.
Jaylon Johnson (4-Star, CB) [Fresno, CA] - Yet another Cali prospect in town this weekend. Johnson's visit came as a bit of a surprise but news of Lamar Jackson's playing time travels fast in Cali and he is very interested. USC is a big player here but Oklahoma and Utah are the other teams to watch. Nebraska looks to make a big push but Johnson won't be pulling the trigger any time soon.
Chevin Calloway (4-Star CB) [Dallas, TX] - Nebraska's strong push in Texas continues and they are hoping to capitalize on their fast start with him. Chevin committed to Iowa after their great season but Iowa's struggles early in the season have caused he and Eno Benjamin (who may also be visiting), a 4-star RB, to look around a bit. Nebraska is going to make a strong push with Chevin, but it will be a fight. Calloway is also good friends with previous visitor Damion Daniels, a 3-star DT that visited for the Fresno State game. Daniels, while he has yet to commit, loved his visit to Nebraska and raved about it to Calloway. This one will be interesting to watch.
Jaevon McQuitty (4-Star, WR) [Columbia, MO] - Just saw that McQuitty will be in town for the weekend as well. A good idea getting your two WR commits in town the same time as your two favorite WR recruits left on the board (Lewis and Hodgins). Good to get him here for the weekend that's for sure.
Rahyme Johnson (4-Star, ATH) [Los Angeles, CA] - The former UCLA commit has been high on Nebraska for a while and will be visiting a second time. Right now Johnson loves Nebraska and Florida and seems to be taking his time. Nebraska got his attention with their victory over Oregon but will need to knock this visit out of the park to get him into the fold. Johnson is the #1 linebacker on Nebraska's board right now and they will definitely roll out the red carpet for him.
Isaiah Hodgins (3-Star, WR) [Walnut Creek, CA] - The fourth CA visitor confirmed for this weekend is Hodgins. At one point Hodgins was committed to Washington State but he has since backed off of his commit. Right now his top three seem to be Nebraska, Oregon and Oregon State... Well Nebraska took Oregon State's HC and beat Oregon this season so it would seem the Huskers have the upper hand (at least they can say scoreboard). Before anyone asks, yes, Nebraska would take both Hodgins and Lewis, the two are different types of receivers. Nebraska needs a big, tall receiver and Hodgins fits the bill at 6'4" and nearly 200 lbs. He may not be the fastest receiver on the board but he's very athletic.
Emmanuel Greene (3-Star, WR) [Bradenton, FL] - Greene is currently a UCF commit but has a Husker commit as a teammate (Broc Bando) at IMG Academy. Greene is a shift WR and is a bit lower on Nebraska's board, he may or may not be in this weekend but seems to be a plan B behind Lewis and perhaps even Jeremiah Hawkins.
Brenden Jaimes (3-Star, OT) [Austin, TX] - Nebraska loves Jaimes, he's nasty, mean and can swing to any position along the offensive line. Jaimes is a bit light but should redshirt and could play as early as his RS-Fr year IMO. Getting a commit on campus during these vsiits is essential as he can let other visitors know why he chose Nebraska.
Broc Bando (3-Star, OG) [Bradenton, FL] - It's a good thing that we're getting Bando in during the same time we get Greene in. The two are teammates and Bando loves Nebraska. Having those linemen there as well as Gebbia and Johnson could be huge.
