what's funny is you think the broadjump or vertical relate agility and start-stop lateral acceleration which are the topics I raised in explaining why with a similar 40 time they are 80 picks apart.

:pound:

I'll text Roger and tell him we can do away with all the drills at the combine except the 20 shuttle drill..........I wonder what Welker's 20 shuttle time was....oh, that's right....the best WR in the NFL over the past six years wasn't even invited to the combine, wasn't drafted and got cut by his first team.......LMAO at the silliness of NFL scouting and those who think its a "science".........:laugh3:

Well, at least Dallas addressed the safety position. Would much rather have had Moore, and then NYG pick him.

Damn you jerry.

Let's see.....I think you left out the vertical: Swope 37' versus Austin 32'; or was it the broadjump; Swope 125 versus Austin 120; or was it reps: Swope 16 versus Austin at 14........LOL....so the only measureable you can find that makes Austin a 9th overall pick and Swope maybe not even drafted is .24 tenths of a second in the 20 shuttle......now that's funny, I don't care who you are!

First of all, WRs aren't drafted strictly off of measurable.

Second of all
Ryan Swope - 6ft. 205 - 4.52 40, 37" Vert, 10'5" Broad, 4.25 shuttle, 6.76 3Cone Drill
Da'Rick Rogers - 6'2.5" 217 - 4.34 40 39.5" Vert, 11'0" Broad, 4.06 shuttle, 6.71 3Cone Drill

homer much ?

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | Wes Welker

Welker hasn't had a #1 season in the last 3 year
:wtf:

Again, put down the internet poutrage. I answered your question. You said their 40 time was what puzzled you. I offered you an explanation-- and a sound one at that. If swope is so dynamic with the ball IN HIS HANDs, how come he wasn't used as a RB to the degree that Austin was? Or a returner?
I mean... THEY HAVE SIMILAR 40 times man!!!! THEY ARE EQUAL.

this and this.

if Rogers could pass a red-flag check, he's a top 10 pick.

Pretty solid draft for the Bills thru the first 3 Rounds, regardless of what people think about EJ Manuel.

I'm excited for the Season to start, but then again, I was also excited last year after the Draft. :L

Because A&M has better options at actual RB? :noidea:

That's just it...it isn't a science. You can't look at numbers and expect combine results to tell you anything about a players draft stock or NFL performance. Also, most scouts don't change a players rating or grades because of a combine performance, they'll go back and watch more tape if they're faster than they expect or standout though.

EJ is not bad... FSU was all over the place the last couple years. I think EJ has a ton of upside....and I am a Gator so that is hard for me to admit.

You mean the second coming of McNabb AKA "teh worst pick evar"

At least Manuel isn't dumber than a bucket of hairs like him.

Why are we really being trolled by someone who is arguing that the 20 short shuttle isn't one key 'predictor'/'explainer' of slot WR success (YAC)..... :L jfc
