14:02 SIGNING! According to Josina Anderson quoting a source on twitter the San Francisco 49ers have agreed to a 2 year deal with former Denver Broncos CB Perrish Cox. Cox graded above average on 787 snaps with Denver in 2010 recording 10 PDs which was as many as Darrelle Revis recorded that year. The 49ers have a clear need for a slot corner, but Cox only played 44 snaps in the slot two years ago. A potentially shrewd signing by the 49ers that adds extra depth to their defensive backfield.

*Tick*tick*tick*! The clock keep ticking down to NFL free agency, less than an hour from now. The biggest name on the market and a man coveted by many is Mario Williams. NFL.com's Jason La Canfora thinks the first team Williams visits may be the Chicago Bears. He added that the Bears "might be the only team" Williams visits, as the club is expected to make a hard push for his services.

Many experts also believe the Bears will make a strong play for wide receiver Vincent Jackson, but La Canfora thinks it may be an "either/or type of situation" for the Bears. Presumably, they wouldn't be able to afford two of the priciest free agents on the market.

Another backup Corner is probably the last thing the 49ers need unless, like me, they believe that they've irritated Rogers so much that he will not return.

This move is for depth, still a possibility they sign rogers.

He signed with them on November 1st. Prior to that he had worked out for the Giants, Titans, Patriots, and I think one other team but I'm not 100% sure there.

I'm guessing Cox replaces Spencer and for cheaper. He's also backup plan for Ginn walking.

The guy was runner up for Thorpe award so he has skill and our DB coach knows him so low risk high reward. I personally like it.

And Colorado just seems to e a bad place for athletes and women, first it was Kobe...

Maybe Cox isn't the brightest but I think Whitner takes him under his wing and keeps him on the straight and narrow. Plus with Hunter being a former teammate there's a positive support group for him.

Who else is on the streets that we can sweep up?

That helps solve their WR issue. Wonder why Miami would make such a move? Maybe clear cap space for Manning/Wayne?
