Riddick started his career at Notre Dame asa WR but he certainly is not an NFL WR. His role is what it has been his entire career.

I've been going over highlights of him. To me he appears to be a better receiver than all of our other RB's. He might as well put '3rd and 5+ yards' on his jersey.

Saints signed AJ Derby.

Shane Ray struggling with the Ravens. Right now appears he will not make the team.

One difference from the old days with the Broncos and the zone running scheme - in the old days - since very few teams relied on zone blocking at the LOS - the Broncos could get guys for cheap who fit their scheme. These days - enough teams run zone primarily, or often enough that the excess zone linemen pool no longer exists.

#AskMase If Janovich goes to IR, what could be the plan to replace him? Or do you think the offense can work without a FB? Cheers from Mexico!

-- @Mx_Broncos via Twitter

Rookie George Aston would be in position to fill in if Janovich goes to injured reserve, but if the absence is measured in weeks, the Broncos could get by using tight ends when fullbacks are needed.

We've seen tight ends motion into the backfield and align themselves as fullbacks throughout OTAs and training camp. Troy Fumagalli, who established himself as a dependable blocker at Wisconsin, would likely be a good fit. But even with that possibility, I would expect to see more traditional two-tight end alignments (with neither tight end in motion to the backfield) while Janovich recovers.

This is what I thought would happen

Keep an eye on CB Horace Richardson. Could see him making the team.

My guy Malik Reed is well on his way but can’t take the foot off the gas right now. He looks like our Shaq Barrett replacement right now.

Really like what I have seen of Reed. A bit disappointed that Holland hasn’t stood out more.

I have grown to like Trey Johnson.

I agree - It is almost like last year when everyone knew early on Lindsay was going to make the team.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Through actions, if not the head coach’s words, Drew Lock has been promoted to No. 2 quarterback.

And another Broncos’ rookie, Brett Rypien, is the new No. 3 QB.

Kevin Hogan, the veteran who had been No. 2 through the entire offseason and first three weeks of training camp, is now the scout team quarterback.

Crash seems to post news 24-48 hours after someone else has already posted it here and likes to use the word “damn”.

He is gonna be “damn” good.

My random observation of the day!
