Gruden has not committed to it, but unlike Saturday he has now said he might play the starters some this week. But the Defense apparently will not play any starters. Think he might go for a feel good drive from the starters.

I don't mind see the 1st string o-line and Griffin out there for a 1st qtr or half. They could use the work. Biggest concern is the someone getting injured. Either way, its a damn if you do play, damn if you don't. Nothing is going to shut people up about Griffin and the offensive issues going.

I understand why he might do it. But the likely returns could be bad if he does it. He should just let em watch and worry about Houston.

if he doesnt go 10 for 10 410 yds and 5 tds vs the baggers it wont matter

i think there will be more harm done then good

the KC will come out go 15 for 15 vs the baggers for 510 yds and 6 tds and that will win the day

a series or 2 could be fine but the best thing is to sit them and plan for houston

I think this is a very bad idea by Gruden. Not only from the perspective of, "what do you gain" with reps against backups, but injury concerns. Sit'em, and get your sheet together in time to play the Texans.

I think it is to shuffle to oline around to see what stinks less.
I don't think this is at all a feel good ploy to get the 1st team some positive plays. Just my guess.

I think he needs to do it. Our 1st team offense hasn't really be in sync with the exception of a couple of drives against CLE. They do need to get the bad taste out of their mouth. They need to whoop up on those second and 3rd stringers, kinda like picking a fight with the smallest guy in the bar. I'd probably give Morris the night off and play garçon and Jackson just a series or two.

If Griffin and the O-line only plays a series or two. They just shouldn't played period. Like I said it's a damn it they do play, and damn if they don't. But right now I see the SportsHoopla dying down right now as there are other QBs and 1st team offenses that are struggling like the Skins, but the difference is their offense isn't new and the media/fans aren't going nuts.

are we really going to find that out in one game vs 2nd and 3rd team guys ? even if he got sacked quite a bit i would be skeptical of any conclusions . if they were perfect i would be skeptical

you guys dont want to hear it but vs the ravens he did dump the ball off to helu, he did run his reads and found reed for a 1st down . he did hit reed with a perfect ball on the penalty

the almost int was a free play so he chucked it to a playmaker . he hit garcon on a screen but it wasnt blocked and he hit garcon on a crossing pattern but it wasnt enough for a 1st down

now the morris play was horrible because he missed a wide open reed down the seem

but people we are talking about 8 passes here , another 8 the game before and 4 more game one

not a hole lot of attempts but we are ready to yank him based on that ?

as for KC here is what i think

Don’t get me wrong, I like Kirk Cousins. He’s done a solid job when the Redskins have called his number. He seems very professional and is a hard worker. But if Jay Gruden chose to start Kirk Cousins at this time it would be a huge risk. Some fans don’t care that Cousins stats so far in his career aren’t very good at all.
But it would be foolish to ignore those stats and how Cousins has played against starting caliber competition because you can’t project what Cousins will do based on his play in the preseason. The numbers Cousins put up aren’t an accident, they happened. And there has to be a tangible reason why failed to impress.

Granted, maybe some players on the team weren’t playing as hard as they could in the Cousins three starts but if he was really an upgrade over Robert Griffin III, the team as a whole would have performed better with him in the lineup and yet it didn’t. You also have to look at the upside of the players.

sorry but at this time RG3 is the play and they should sit

Screw it, I say play them. It is a meaningless game but so were the other 3 preseason games. You can't play scared all the time. Put them in for a quarter. They need the work.

Hell, you could sit every one of them and have 3 bad injuries before halftime OG game one. You just never know.

So Cousins wasn't good in his 5 starts and. Griffin had reasons for not playing well.

Griffin as a starter - 11-17
Cousins as a starter - 1-3

That leaves one game, the Ngata knee game. I didn't put that in anyone's category.

What does it mean, who knows. Some people like to take their slice of history to try and prove their point of view.

I still say they have yet to game plan, let's see what happens when they do. Griffins first preseason he looked terrible. Not so much when they played the Saints. Hang in there folks and wait for the real season.

This is like saying, little timmy passed every open book test we gave him this year, so no reason for him to take the mid-term, we will just give him a passing grade on the class.

If we start out again with an offense that struggles to put up TD's until the second half of games... expect to see alot of harsh remarks out there.
