Isn't that what all of us fans should want, your team to fail....?!?! I am confused.

DC, what do you call losses to the two worst teams in the league with a bowl on the line? Holgorsen has already failed, he took a team that competed with the best of the best to a team that gave Kansas their first league win in 27 games........their third win against a 1A team in three years, THAT is not what fans want from Mountie football..........

Do a little research, Saban took over a team that had gone 16-18 the previous three seasons at MSU, they had not had a winning season for five years prior to his arrival, and were under NCAA sanctions. MSU went to a bowl game in each of Saban's first three years. Saban was only at MSU for five years, and had a 34-24-1 record, after going 19-16-1 in his first three years. Holgorsen took over a team that had been 27-12 in the previous three years....... Hardly apples to apples!!!

Are you comparing Stewart's accomplishments to what Saban did or to what Holgorsen has accomplished? Dana took Stew players to a 10-3 record, which included an Orange Bowl victory. A 9-4 record in the Big East will not equal a 9-4 record in the Big 12 when you have Big East talent on the team. Without full recruiting classes, which some still do not believe is a problem, you have what you have today. Not sure of what apples you are attempting to compare. Apples to apples would be comparing his accomplishments in the BE compared to Stewart's, just as you did comparing Saban's record while in the Big 10, which you have.

Bill Stewart (Big East) (2008–2010)
2008 Stewart 9–4 5–2 T-2nd W Meineke Car Care
2009 Stewart 9–4 5–2 T-2nd L Gator
2010 Stewart 9–4 5–2 T-1st L Champs Sports

Dana Holgorsen (Big East) (2011–2011)
2011 Holgorsen 10–3 5–2 T-1st W Orange†

Dana Holgorsen (Big 12) (2012–2013)
2012 Holgorsen 7–6 4–5 T-5th L Pinstripe
2013 Holgorsen 4–8 2–7 T-7th

Looks like DAD did a little research on Wikipedia…

This is from their site…

1995–1997 – Beginning in 1995, Saban moderately improved MSU's fortunes, taking the Spartans to minor bowl games (all of which they lost by double-digit margins) in each of his first three seasons. From 1995 to 1997, Michigan State finished 6–5–1, 6–6, and 7–5. In comparison, MSU had finished 5–6, 6–6 and 5–6 (prior to NCAA forfeits) in 1992–1994.

1998 – On November 7, 1998, the Spartans upset the No. 1 ranked Ohio State 28–24 at Ohio Stadium. However, even after the upset and an early-season rout of then-highly ranked Notre Dame the Spartans finished 6–6, including three last-minute losses featuring turnovers, defensive lapses, and special-teams misplays, and failed to earn a bowl invitation.

Saban… the greatest HC in all the land… had a team full of his recruits… his coaching philosophy… and they had TO's… defensive lapses…. and ST misplays? Even though they proved how good they were by beating #1 OSU? Using DAD's logic… Saban had shown he was in over his head. His team was getting worse…

Weird…
