He had a huge impact on Strasburg since he coached him in college (see above). This also helped Strasburg to quit chewing tobacco (probably the reason for Gwynn's cancer). Unfortunately - Strasburg resumed this nasty habit a while ago. Hopefully - Gwynn's death convinces him to drop the habit again.
