all of these are factors but ,

qb play is going to be huge and knowing we will be outgunned there in every game isnt encouraging

the young right side of the o/line . some on this board think long and scherrf will instantly jell and the problem is solved . sorry but i dont buy that at all because history shows otherwise . i expect they will get better as the season goes on but how much of a hole will we be in ?

injuries , not a good sign that kerrigan and williams are already dinged up . but add to it some depth issues at key positions and we can be hurt

i dont think people are taking these factors into consideration when predict winning records and competing for titles .

we arent there yet to do that consistently i want perennial success not fleeting

people forget , we werent just bad we were horribly bad last season . i expect the deficit in points could be cut in half getting us a few more wins

win 2-3 more games and it is a success from big picture perspective...i agree. I just want to see a competitive team from week 2 week.

Main problems with the team are as follows:

QB. This is a no brainer. Griffin has proven over the past two seasons he is not capable of reading a defense and making the open throws and progressions.

DB. Still a big question mark. I love Breeland and think he can develop into a quality starter. But I don't know that he's there yet. Culliver will help. Safety.............we'll see. This could be a much improved unit but it's premature to assume that it will be.

Head Coach. Not sold on Gruden. He seems hesitant. He also seems to lack confidence and conviction. This guy was so wishy washy in the press last year in regards to the QB position, I can't imagine that doesn't trickle down into everything he does. Maybe it's reading too much into the tea leaves, but I just have a bad vibe about this guy. Seems to stupid to be a cool, calculation, successful head coach.

LB. Inside guys are blah. They are serviceable. Nothing more. Kerrigan is good. Gotta have the rook or Murphy step up. The players we've added up front should help.

what, no mention of our O-line? until they step on the field and prove it....its an issue as well...a big one.

I agree with your assessments though. I think the rook will take some time to develop. If he improves, he could be a starter by season's end.
