I'm not saying the charity is bogus. I'm saying isn't it just possible that Lance Armstrong misled people about its role and the scope of what it does for his own self-interest? Just like he's admitted he did with everything else and everyone else in his "one big lie" of a life? Most people are under the impression that Livestrong is leading the fight against cancer.

Then why it is that 99% of Americans will tell you that they're fighting cancer and Jesus Chr... err, I mean Lance Armstrong raised 127 trillion dollars for "cancer research." Is it just possible that the man who just admitted that his whole life is "one big lie" might have deceived people about the charity as well?

I don't know and I don't think most people would. Maybe because people assume things without checking the facts. I'll wait here while you read Lifestrong's mission statement. Then you can tell me how and why you misunderstood it. That perhaps will shed light on why others do.

So far you're the only person I see who is confused by it.

So now Jim Valvano is a crudball too. Just wow.

Listen man, you're saying allot of stuff but not proving anything. Let's start with Livestrong rating "higher than the vaunted Jimmy V fund" and them being "the biggest and the best." And if they disappear tomorrow, what it is they do that no one else does?

Charity Navigator Rating - Livestrong Foundation
Charity Navigator Rating - The V Foundation

Or are independent auditors unworthy in your mind too?

As for Jimmy V - not saying he's a crudball. I am saying he skirted rules and was dishonest. Which is what Lance Armstrong is. Apples to Apples.

Probably because Livestrong started out raising money for research, and then realized that people who are fighting the disease are underserved and since in 2005 focused the organization's efforts exclusively on supporting survivors. And it's not that hard to figure out all you need to do is...

Okay, well since we're splitting hairs, Accountability & Transparency was rated higher for Jimmy V than Livestrong. But I do appreciate the links. I never said Livestrong is bogus but there's no doubt their corporate culture was founded on worship of a fraud. I'm sure they're doing much more good giving money to survivors than cancer research hospitals. You won't catch me with a little yellow bracelet on my wrist and my nose in the air anytime soon even if Douchebag was forced out.

And don't give me that Jim Valvano's deceit was "apples to apples" with Lance Armstrong. You know better than that.

And I hope people stop glorifying it for anything more than it is: a fundraiser. Most people think they're curing cancer because of its founders disinformation. If you want an honorable cancer foundation, it's Jimmy V, not Cheatstrong.

:/

And I would love to hear all about their corporate culture. No doubt you have first hand experience...

They both cheated to gain a competitive advantage, lied to try and cover it up and eventually had a massive downfall once caught. They also both had cancer.

The only difference is you liked one of them and not the other.

Nope, I know exactly what I stated not more. And I'm kinda puzzled why that annoys you so much.

Jimmy V had a massive downfall. Huh, I must have missed that. You should have at least told these people.

damn what a pissing match,,,,it's pretty clear that the hammer doesn't like Armstrong and to argue is pointless

it's why I dropped it and left,,,,43 made some very good points but once someone has made up their mind about someone,,,,in this case we are talking hammers opinion of Armstrong nothing is going to change hammers mind

just like my thoughts on gun control no one will ever change my mind on that

it's why I come to the HOOP we are allowed to voice our opinion without some MOD getting mad and kicking us out

So, you are claiming that public support for an individual negates being forced to resign your position due to misconduct being classified as a "downfall"?

Fascinating.

If you think about it Lance Arstrong and Religion are almost the same thing.

They both have millions of followers who congregate on occasion, and they both take money from people while lying, cheating, and attacking anyone who disagrees with them, while sometimes helping people along the way.

I'm going to stop going to the Chruch of Fonz and start a Church of Lance.
