If the PTB in the MLB front offices don't intervene soon to put an end to all these HBP...then things are gonna start getting really ugly real fast. It's almost on the verge now of becoming an epidemic. It's gotta stop.
I hate to see it...and it's happening everyday around the majors. Players are gonna get seriously hurt.

Buck came out 2 weeks ago and said he wants a universally agreed upon substance that's out on the mound that everyone can use. The balls are way too slick and guys throw way too hard.

Mets Wednesday Series Finale Lineup @ Cardinals ( Matz) yeah...that guy.

Cookie having a rough outing today...as did Matz.
Mets put up 4 runs in the 2nd off Matz...but the Cards scored 3 in the 3rd, and have tied it here in the 4th.
With 2 outs and 2 on and an IBB to Arenado to load the bases..Cookie threw a WP to give the Cards a 5-4 lead.
Now its Cards 6 - Mets 4...after a 2 out single...and his day is done.
Reid- Foley is coming in now to relieve, with 2 outs and runners at the corners.

While I was posting....Reid-Foley gives up a 1st pitch 2 run triple.....making it 8-4 Cards.

Lindor's 2 out rbi double in the 7th gets the Mets a run closer.

With Yoan Lopez pitching for NY...Cards got that run back in the 7th.

Mets now trail 10-5 heading to the 8th.
(that's the most runs they've allowed in a game this year)
(previous high was 6, back in Philly on April 13th...a game the Mets won 9-6)

At this point this BS is out of control...and getting worse.

On his Bday today, JD Davis was 0 for 3....and gets HBP on the foot here in the 8th.
McNeil comes in to run for him at 1B.

Things got kind of testy in the bottom of the 8th.
Nolan Arenado (fuck him) got brushed back, but not plunked so he started barking at the Mets pitcher (Lopez) which prompted both dugouts and BP's to rush onto the field..and a scrum at home plate ensued. So he (arenado) got tossed.

Anyhow the Mets lost 10-5...and have tomorrow off.
They begin a home stand this weekend against the Phillies, and then the Braves come in for 4 next week.

Mets dropped the series finale but took the series 2-1.
