The #1 Rushing attack in the league
Our defense ranks 3rd in rushing and 4th in points given up.


Even at 1-1 we are looking solid for the moment. The short turn around will be a test for us, but we also get the mini bye before the Eagles.

Oh I expect both teams are rabid at the moment. But both are in the bottom ten defense in the league after two weeks. Lets look at NY in particular though since it is a bad idea to look past any team. NY is giving up an average of 25.5 points per game, and while their rush defense shows a good stat at 68 yards per game given up.. I think this is fools gold as their pass defense is giving up 350 yards per game. Basically why run the ball when you can pass for 300+ a game. Now I don't expect us to start airing it out Thursday, and i hope like hell Gruden doesnt even SEE that particular stat. But we have proven we can run the ball against two of the defensive fronts expected to be extremely good. So I dont think a win this week will come from changing our game plan. Sure I would love to see Cousins throw for 350 with 3 TDs, but the reality is our offense runs through the butler and the battering ram. And that should not change.

We can worry about Philly Friday.

The Giants also haven't faced a real strong running team yet. The boys and the Falcons like to throw the ball around a lot. Their run ranking is more of a reflection of the type of teams they've played.

This game is fascinating to me. In the past, this is when this team would come out and crap themselves. Short week, on the road, on national TV.

I sense this team has a different identity but they don't have the talent to make a lot of noise yet. This is all on the D and the OL. If they have a good game then I can see us winning. If the Giants shut down the run game then I don't see Cousins carrying us. That's just not a recipe for success.

Man, I wish Galette wasn't hurt. This D would have been fun to watch. Never thought I would be saying that a year ago.

I think we have to remember the Giants could have won both of the games they lost. Cali said it awhile ago. Skins haven't played well up their in a long time.

And honestly i dont see the Giants shutting down the run game without committing 8-9 in the box every down. If they do that, Kirk has enough toys to make them pay for it, and he is fast enough on the trigger to make the Giants back out of that.

I do realize that if IM the Giants, Im going to force the issue and make Kirk Cousins beat me. But the thing is, I dont think they have the players to shut down our ground game. And while I think Eli will likely have a decent game... as much as i was a fan of Haslett, this aint the Haz-Mat defense.

We could have and probably should have won in week one. Save for a Special teams fuckup that put us in desperation mode, we dominated the Dolphins. I like Tannehill, I think we would have been a better team had we drafted him.... but our team is NOT the same unit it was last year.

A lot to prove in this one - for both sides. Remember - Cousins probably had his worst game in his only appearance vs. the Giants last season. It was a turnover fest that night. Hopefully - as many suggest here - they don't need to rely on him too much & the offense can actually be effective this time.

I agree with you. My concern is that I don't think this team has the talent to perform like they did yesterday week in and week out. I think we're going to see a lot of games like week 1 where they are just a few plays short and it costs them the game. I'm excited about the direction of the team with GMSM and Callahan. I just don't think we're quite ready to be consistent enough.

Guys... I think this is a building game for the team. I think NY will do everything it can to stop the run. They have struggled against the pass. While I dont expect us to abandon the run, I think this is a game where we could see Kirk shine as a QB. I think our real fear is injury on the defensive line. I think we force the Giants into a one dimensional pass heavy offense early, control the clock and we have a more than solid shot at winning.

I agree. Penalties and ST TD hurt bad in that game. Coulda, shoulda, woulda. For the first time since Shanahan was hired I have some hope that maybe .... just maybe Dan will let SM run the team and acquire the players.

I wanted to keep the draft picks and draft Tannehill. Not because I knew he was going to be pretty good but because I didn't want to give up half a team for a spread offense QB. Done and over with now. I knew when Cousins got drafted the next day that Dan had a large hand in that draft.

i see us as 6-10 with a bunch of close frustrating games , mistakes and injuries
