really? I've never heard of a club assigning that number to a prospect. It
s just universal for "douchebag". interesting.
I'm still gonna hate him until it changes, though. some rules can't be broken :thumb: :D

man, our powerplay is now running at about 2 for 25.
guess that what happens when the veteran point presence is Nolan Baumgartner and Aaron Rome
despite that, I'm pretty pleased with how the 'Wolves in Nucks clothing' has held tough against mostly full squads from Edm, Ana, and SJ.

To my knowledge most organizations don't even make that number available. Someone in the Sharks hockey ops has a poor sence of humor.

Winchester is really trying to get noticed tonight.
unfortunately, a lot of it is for dumb penalties

hey, 2 man advantage! throw the Sedins out there - oh.
OK, Baumgarter will do. make that PP 3 for 27 (at least 2 of those were on 5on3's)
nice to see CoHo thinking shot a lot more frequently.

Sulzer has a heck of a shot... he's just missed a couple of times.

oh well, made it close at the end.

In your face Puck!!! Sure you may have beat us in the playoffs this year, but we won the war in Pre-Season!!!

EDIT: "last" season.

4-0 so far. The Sharks look primed to go deep into this preseason...

rematch, beyotch!!!

- looks at schedule - oh, Thursday... sweet.
hopefully we will play some vets in that one, they are itching to go.
I have my excuse pre-selected though, Weds vs the Ducks could be a bit of a gong show for us

Vancouver releases Owen Nolan + Niko Dimitrakos. Assign Antoine Roussel + Matt Cimie to Chicago Wolves

gallant effort, Nolan... just didn't stand out.
best of luck elsewhere.

also: Pinnizotto with a dislocated shoulder, Rome with a broken hand (or finger)

Pass it to Bulis
Bad news, guys. After learning that Aaron Rome broke his hand, Keith Ballard high-fived Chris Tanev so hard he broke his hand, too.

unfortunate but at least this prevents AV's man crush on Rome from blinding him early this season because Ballard has been pretty good in preseason, imo

Ughh... some things never change... like AV being a whiny little bitch:

In case you missed it, Canucks coach Alain Vigneault let it be known after last night’s game that he was unhappy with the open ice hit with which Douglas Murray flattened Maxim Lapierre in the second period of the Sharks’ 4-3 exhibition win.

“I look at Murray’s hit on Lapierre: If that is not exactly what Aaron Rome did last year …” Vigneault was quoted in the Vancouver Province web site, a reference to the shot on Nathan Horton that got Rome suspended for the remainder of the Stanley Cup finals. “It is, and it’s probably 2.3 seconds later than what Romer did to Horton.”

The officials, of course, didn’t see it that way. Murray ended up squaring off with Antoine Roussel while Lapierre earned a two-minute penalty for picking himself up off the ice and cross-checking Dan Boyle, then another two minutes when he and Boyle were each sent off for roughing.

Sharks GM Doug Wilson’s response to Vigneault’s complaint?

“It’s not even worthy of a response.”

I can't wait until they tear the 'A' from Lapierre's jersey...

Anyone have a video of that hit? I like watching Murray hit people and I like watching Lapierre get hit so it sounds like a win-win for me.

on the hit ... its a bit late ... interference probably ... standing up the opposition player around the blue line ... not worthy of a 4 game suspension or anything

/which hit was I talking about again?

Hit looked a little late, but it wasn't egregious and he didn't make contact with the head. I'd be fine with 2 for interference if it were called but Rares called it, AV is just whining.

Thanks for the video link.. and yeah, a bit late and interference, agreed.

Just not worth complaining about, IMO. /shrug

Anyway, moving on, not that big a deal.
