I think it would be a monumental mistake not to lock Morris up as well no he is not the greatest catcher but the guy is a beast running the ball and now that we upgraded the o-line and brought in the best o-line coach I believe he will have a hell of a season!!!!

Right or wrong I think Morris getting re-signed is no lock at all. If he continues to put the ball on the carpet, and Jones looks good in pre-season, I could see the Skins using that money elsewhere. Personally, I am taking a wait and see approach. He needs to show me he can be the same dude without the zone blocking scheme and RG3 as a non running threat.

Alfred Morris Stats - Washington Redskins - ESPN

Someone else brought up this fumbling issue a while back, and they were also incorrect. Where do you get this idea about Morris fumbling? That may have been true a few seasons ago but not last season. Check out his stats. With a fair amt of carries he fumbled a total of 2 times last season and didn't lose either one. That is a lot of fumbles?

Williams, yes. Morris, if the price is right (which I believe it will be). A good RB is replaceable. A PB LT is very hard to replace.

Point taken, but 11 times in three years is still to many for me. Also, this doesn't account for the mishaps that often take place at the handoff. RG usually gets blamed for those. I was at the Texans game where that happened inside the redzone and probably cost us the game.

I just know I hold my breath now every time he carries it. It's not at Stephen Davis proportions, but I do cringe.

I do like Morris though. Don't get me wrong. I just won't be surprised if the Skins pass or low ball him.

Huh? So a guy reduces his fumbles from one year to the next & you consider that a flaw? If he has no fumbles lost this season will you still refer to his mistakes from 2012 & 2013? That doesn't really make sense. Also - unitl RG3 & other QBs prove otherwise I would hold them responsible for a good deal of the exchange issues & it is a pipedream to expect a RB to never fumble.

The bigger issue here is how many $$ you want to commit to a RB not named Peterson or Lynch.

No, the numbers did catch my attention. That's why I said point taken. The fact remains that Morris has had issues holding on to the ball dating back to college. It was stated by some analysts that was the reason he went so late in the draft. Not trying to bash one of our best players, but taking Jones in the 3rd made me question Morris's future.

I thought they would draft some change of pace back, but they picked up another bruiser. I'm talking from the Skins perspective, not mine.

I like Morris, but I have to admit once again, I hold my breath when he carries the football.

Most Fumbles and Fumbles Lost: 2014 NFL Season

Check it out - not only did Morris rarely fumble last season - hardly any RBs fumbled much during that time. The one major exception - D. Murray with 5 lost fumbles. Why? Perhaps since he carried the ball almost 400 times. I truly believe that worries about fumbles by Morris or most other RBs in this era is not warranted. With an exception or two from a few season ago I never remember being worried about Morris in this area. I was much, much more worried about a Cousins INT or RG3 getting sacked or playing like crap.

Yeah, last year he did hold on to it better. Can't deny that.
