This is the thread for everyone thats going to say its too late, or it doesnt matter, or anything. Yes, we know this already. But you're (and you know who you are) more than likely gonna say it anyway so say it here without bringing down any other thread's please.

It is probably too late. I mean if you think about it, they couldn't outright lose more than 8-10 games out of the remaining 50 or so. Even the best of hockey teams would have trouble pulling that off. But as they say, that's why you play the game. Who knows!

The Devils opened the season 30-10 last year, so it's not like it's impossible, just unlikely. They would basically need to go 35-15 and they would be in the hunt for 8th. Of course that was also with a healthy Parise...

In all honesty, by the time anyone would have actually fired him, it was too late. The hockey season doesn't give you a lot of leeway to get things figured out.

I never liked Mac's coaching style... cmon man get fired up once in a while but it's too late now... all this does is maybe take us out of the lottery
