But this shit is getting absurd.

Is it just me or does this second half the devils are having even just to this point seem borderline impossible

Certainly something I haven't seen in a long time. If they make the playoffs, it would be an epic turnaround. Lemaire coach of the year, hands down(if they make it).

They're the opposite of the Mets, instead of historic collapses of epic proportions they're making history on the come back!

I'm sure I'm being a homer but I think he should get it even if the Devils fall short.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the previous coach get away from the lame trap and try to play more wide open hockey? Well that failed and whatshisname is back and the team is back to the trap. zzzzzzzz.

My vote would go to Bylsma. To be in contention for the #1 seed with all the injuries facing this team. Might be a homer pick as well

I dont think anyone is claiming it is exciting hockey, the arena looked empty when the Pens visited. But they are winning

To be fair there's a lot more counter punch to the trap they play now.And I can't recall A time in the past Lemaire has allowed the Dmen to jump in as much as they do.Ican't see judging the teams excitement on attendance even under other coaches with different styles and our higher scoring years attendance has always been an issue. It kind of came along with the turf when the devils came in the entered an area with a lot of rangers and flyers fans already in place.Personally I was surprised to see so many devils fans in the islanders arena today.

Our attendance is always gonna look like shit on TV, when the fans in the cheap seats stop showing up, then I'll start to worry.

It's very reminiscent to me of the Caps of 07-08, who were in dead last in the East towards the end of '07 and made the playoffs in the last game of the year.

The differences are the Caps' weren't missing one of their most (if not their most) talented offensive player, but they also had no road map of success to build upon from their past.

The Devils attempt to make the playoffs will certainly be the story of the East from here on out if they continue to climb. I'm sure they are scaring the crap out of some of the top seeds right now, not to mention some of the ones on the cusp.

Great come back by the Devils for sure. But making the playoffs would be epic and I don't think so. Too many teams to jump and one of them is very hot right now.

Great - great turn around RKO. You guys have every right to feel good about your possibilities.

I personally hope your boys fall face first in the dirt and someone grinds a boot into the back of your necks, but that's really irrelevant, isn't it?? ;) :)

I still maintain that it isn't a sustainable pace.

But I'm biased because I hate the Devils.

i hope they do fall short, just because they're fuckin dangerous right now

but even if they do fall short, lemaire is coach of the year.. i dont even think its a contest.. they were what, like 10-30 before him and they're like 20-2 with him? (gross exaggerations i think, but you get my point)

Not too far off really.

9-22-2 under MacLean
21-9-2 under Lemaire

And 7 of Lemaire's 9 regular time losses came in his first 8 games after taking over.

To the Devils fans in the thread: suppose the Devils make the playoffs, is there any chance of Parise playing in the postseason?
