I do think it is much more complicated for real life GMs... There is too much politics in it... as anyone can lose their job quickly with failure... Rebuilding a team is very hard, because to rebuild a team well you need time... But GMs want to save or keep their jobs so they go for HRs...

Personally, i think it is better to build your strengths up than to fill your holes... But many feel that they need to go hard on fixing their holes...

I agree with this to an extent but my Raiders need safeties and CB's.....we gotta fill those holes rather than build up our strengths like the DL and LB's.

True I feel like the hardest part is dealing with pressures from the owner or fans to win immediately and do it a certain way.

That is a big issue in every sport. Unless the owner and fan base has a lot of patience, the GM is often incentivized to go for the quick fix that might net a couple extra wins. Often times, that is not what's best for the long term outlook.

Football is the most though since it is the most team sport... at least with basketball and baseball if you get the BPA, he is still the BPA...

Baseball, yes. In basketball though, chemistry is vital. Talent can take you far, but you ain't winning a ring unless the pieces fit.

Willing to trade my 6th and 7th rounder for an extra 5th rounder or to swap out 5th rounders.

Agreed. I'm honestly convinced most of us could probably be league average GM's in most sports. Definitely wouldn't be the worst, which is incredible.
100% agree. With the resources and scouting departments a GM has at his service, the number of teams that never get it right is amazing
