I keep seeing others talk about Jack Conklin...What do you see in this kid? I see the worst Technique of any OL that is expected to be taken in the first few rounds. He has great athleticism which is why he could survive in college but when he went against actual pro potential talent he got eaten alive. I just see him as the worst OL player in the league next year as some team will take him 1st round and feel pressured to start him but he will get his QB killed.

Technique can be taught and quite frankly has to be taught. I think he has the right measurables and a lot of functional strength. Destroyed Buckner although he usually had help. Id probably pick him at RT but then again thats my general position on rookie tackles.

See I watched that Buckner game and I saw plenty of plays Buckner was driving him straight back if he ever was asked to cover him one-on-one. Yes when he had help they did fine but in the NFL a lot of times Tackles are asked to cover themselves and expected to hold up. And yes technique can be taught but to me he looks like a 3-4 year project. He reminds me a lot of your boy Fischer when the Chiefs drafted him of great athleticism but man oh man was he a project.

Well, if you look at the track record of tackles lately....thats all of them

Good point. I guess I just see a guy who has not been coached well at all and while having some nice strength to maybe move some people in the run game lacks the athleticism in his footwork to really keep edge rushers from getting around him. I guess to me above all else I like to focus on the footwork of an OL player to see how they might do at the next level. Conklin has terrible footwork and even more importantly a lack of speed in moving his feet to get into good position.

I guess the question becomes what are you willing to trade to move up?

I saw you were wavering, but I thought you made the right call. Lee is the modern day hybrid LB with the size and speed to cover TEs...in that 3-4...he's an ILB like Shazier...you can blitz him as well...

It wasn't about Lee... I just want the Jets to show that they care to improve their offense... even if they fail big time... I like Matt Forte, but he is old... would have loved to see a tandem with them 2... for a team that wants to be ground and pound(despite having 2 great WRs), I don't see a better way than having the 2 headed monster... and when forte gets hurt, or next year when he is likely retired, the Jets would have there RB...

and worse comes to worse, if this all fails, then they would probably be a bad team and get a high draft pick...

2-3-4-5, for your 1,3,5,6

Well I don't have a 6th round pick is part of the problem. The other is my 5th round pick is actually better than yours so essentially I would be giving up a 1st round pick for a 2nd and 4th round pick in this deal for you to move up 20 spots. Seems a bit in your favor.

If we go by the draft value chart what would be a fair deal would be you get my 1st round pick and one of my 7th round picks and I get your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks.

The 31st pick is worth 600 and my 1st 7th round pick is worth 11.8 points.

Your 2nd is worth 380, 3rd is 170, and 4th is 62. Total is 612 where I would be giving up 611.8 points.

Just so you know, my kids are 41, 37, 33......I have grandchildren who are almost as old as most of you.......
My clock is ticking quicker than most of yours. Let's get this thing moving..........

Ken,

You can not blame the pace of the draft on you not picking yet, clearly you should target the League for the lack of picks your Pat's have this year, cause deep down we all know those balls were not flat!

Also that reminds me @Nosferatu when looking at your full 7 round list the Broncos have 3 picks in the 7th round and you only have them with 1. They got San Frans (7th pick in the round) in the Vernon Davis deal. They also got pick #235 in the Chris Clark trade with the Texans. Also pretty sure there is only supposed to be 253 picks in this draft as the Broncos are supposed to be picking Mr. Irrelevant.

I think Conklin sits where most OT's do when they enter the league. He can contribute right away as a Run Blocker, but has a ways to go to be a pass blocker. I agree you would never put him on Staffords blindside this early, but I think adding him helps out the run game a lot. Lions have not had a decent run game in a long time so I think it is worth the shot.

I guess for me I just view him as a huge bust. He has some things to like for sure but I just think he is too much of a project and doesn't have quite the athleticism to make up for it while he learns the game.

Darron Lee is boring?

If we are being honest, you can pick apart almost every player in this draft.
I agree, but I don't think saying a kid is a great prospect in one scheme but not in another is picking them apart .JMO
