Times have changed, good or bad. But it's not like these players or any of the players over the past 15 years WANT to be bad.

I guess the perfect solution would be to find 85 kids who are just like Jason Peter
No, but a coach can push them harder, a coach can expect more from the kids, a coach can change the course of strength and conditioning and speed in practice to be more game speed, a coach can light a fire that better prepares these kids. The kids who are here dont have the "heart" but that doesnt mean they cant have discipline and strength and proper execution.

That wa
I remember back in the good old days when it was Nebraska's opponents who were beat up after the
Games. The Huskers rarely had more than one or two minor dings on the roster.[/QUOTE

That was when men played the game. Now it's mostly kids that think everything is about them and piss, whine and moan more than ever. JMO

I've got a bad feeling this game is going to be like Okie Lite in 2007.

I can appreciate his passion. But at what point does it get old and do more harm to the program than good?
Perhaps when they start competing with the upper echelons, until then rant on.

If I saw guys out there giving it their all on every play, then ya I would say he’s over the top. But there’s numberous times you see guys loafing or 1/2 effort, now don’t get me wrong, there are players that give 110% every play, but not all.

I don't think NW has that kinda firepower.

It would take a bad Tanner Lee game in order to make it happen in my opinion.

Like a couple pick 6's.

Could happen though. If it did happen there might be a chance Moos goes against his word and fires a coach midseason.

I think Tanner takes a beating tomorrow. Hence some Int's.

Far few and between. Exception rather than the Rule. I can remember when my brother played, he was a walk-on man he was so excited especially when he got to put the hit on Ahman Green in the spring game in front of husker nation. Seems that the pride and prestige of competing at a high level is gone.

Instilling the "we are better than you, we work harder than you, we are more disciplined than you, we are smarter than you" attitude is what we need. It is long gone, now it is just a "give it your all guys and thats good enough for a participation trophy" "dont worry ill be smiling when you fail"

NW needs to do like I suggested. T off on Tanner.

Nebraska doesn't execute the screen well, they don't execute the swing pass well, they don't run the ball well.
Stay in Tanner's face and he won't have a good day.

Skerpokes it's not doing any harm to this program. He's just stating the truth about what he see on the field. Jason is doing it in a very blunt fashion. Being blunt is not being negative. The coaching staff does need to hold these young men accountable. Coaching is really physcology. Sometimes you need to break these kids down and give them tough love. Other times it praise them and give them a whole lot of love. If a coach can't work a young man over and break him down at time then he's mentally weak player he may have all the physical tools but when he's mentally stressed and he will fail every time. To many times under Riley and Pelini I've seen to many mentally weak football players.

I hate relating to it, but it really is true. Just like Marine Corps Basic Training. Break them down, and build them up the right way both mentally and physically while instilling discipline and a sence of honor and pride of being the best because of everything you have gone through to get where you are now a sense of accomplishment is then EARNED and then it is fought for to be the best on the field.

JP pointing out the problems in the program in hopes things will improve as we all do. I'll take passion for the Huskers instead of completely giving up on them any day all day.

Game Day woot woot.

My uncle Joe told me back in the day a person could pay $5 and get a Burlington train ride to Lincoln, receive a sack lunch, get a ticket for a Nebraska Football game, and get a train ride back to Omaha.

Yes I went back in time - hint hint

For those who don't know, we Fall back tonight.
