another to think about it you have23 million dollars to invest so you put it in the corner back sector of the market then invest 15 mill in norman company 2 mill in breeland company an you invest in small caps dunbar inc toler inc blackmon inc now people are saying why by norman at 15 mill when u can by more small cap stock with them players the reason i would say is norman at 15 you might get a better return then shit load of small caps

Few tid bits.

Bruce Allen actually sent a pic of Josh in Skins gear right after the Panthers took the tag off him, (funny aside - Josh didn't even see it til 1-1/2 days later), but it makes clear that he was on the Skins radar and they were after him from the get go.

Cuz who was the co-winner with Norman of most improved player last year was really amped to get Norman on board. They know and like each other and also practiced together in Fl last year.

Drew was willing to forgo some of his salary to make a deal with the Saints happen. That speaks volumes.

Hey SkinFaninATL I am a LITTLE skeptical of this signing. Yes we need a cb but that's a lot of money to give a player for 5 yrs. This just reminds me of the past mistakes we made. But as always I hope it works out b/c we do need a cb. But for now we have a lot of options. I still feel we need to address the Def early and often.

Its basically a 2 year $36.5 million dollar deal with three years of team buy in options. And yes thats alot of money even for a two year deal. But it doesnt cripple us. We still have roughly $4 million this year in cap space before making any more moves which I expect us to make some.

We also STILL have around $40 million in cap space next year after making this move.

And I know we are all over Defense as the draft approaches, but let me just throw it out there.... Say we get to pick 21 and none of the WRs have come off the board yet?? Would you be mad if we traded down 2-3 spots, got an extra second or third, then took a WR in the first, and grabbed D-line in the 2nd and 3rd??

So would I... and you know i have been pounding the drum for defense for the last month. But if we could add a pick, and get one of the drafts top WR's IM all over it.

Hell depending on who is still on the board from the D-line, I would take Treadwell at 21 if he was there and not be upset at all.

Also lets not sleep on the Murphy to the line move. Kid is going into his third year in the defense, and basically moving back to the position he played in college

stop being negative retards i need shark on this so shark can you post all the money we are paying all the corners on are'roster show us the'total amount the reason is i deal in stocks anyway example if we pay norman 15 mill and breeland 2 mill thats 17 million dived by 2 so you and i can say thats like haveing 2cb at 8 million a peice please shrk post all cap numbers for are corners so we can see the truth

The math you're speaking on has nothing to do with addition or division. And regardless what BB is making now. If he continues to improve, becomes more consistent etc. He's gonna be thinking about that 15 mill+ they gave a FA. As well as all that homegrown, take care of your own talk from Scotty Mac.

Guys, I keep saying, the cap monster is dead. When it comes time to sign Breeland in 2018 we are currently slated to have $96 million in cap space. So lets say we actually end up with HALF that.... IM NOT seeing an issue here gents.

Right now we got $4.2 million in cap space. That goes up to 7 or 8 million once we release Roberts and next years number goes up to around $42..... IM not seeing much of an issue from a cap standpoint unless we get to a point where we have to pay Kirk $30 million a year.... and for that to happen, it means we got another one of these

What evidence do you have that he was involved in personnel when Shanny was here? He got too close to Griffin but he wasn't in the war room on draft day or recruiting free agents as he had done in the past.
What evidence do you have that he wasn't? Lets be honest, neither of us have evidence, we are talking about how we feel in our guts. we disagree on this point. no big deal..

I know you've been trying to walk away from this. So I'll just close by saying as much coverage as this team gets if Dan was in the war room or if there was any hint of his involvement we would have heard about it by now. That's just common sense.

And I'll close by saying this. That is your opinion of common sense. Dan doesn't have to be in the War room to influence personnel. In fact, I doubt he had and influence on draft picks in recent years. I do not doubt that Dan's presence is felt (and his glee at big name signings) in moves like signing Norman. As I intimated earlier, I believe scot was behind this, but dan's eagerness in such moves makes it very easy to forget ones "principles" that Scot has always touted. Wouldn't you agree that Scot has violated the tenets that he has always maintained in building a football team (building a team through the draft, avoiding big name FAs, taking care of your own first, etc)?

No I wouldn't agree with that at all. Did you consider last off season as a deviation from his plan to build through the draft and fill specific holes with FAs that are not overpaid and past their prime? Who would fit that description? Culliver and to a lesser extent Pae got fairly large deals but again they were young, hardly big names, and signed to fill gaping holes. What about this off season, very very low profile until this signing. Vernon Davis was the only thing close to an older "big name" and he got a 1 year deal that was cheap. For the most part SM has signed low profile younger guys all along while focusing his team building on the draft.

Guess we haven't "closed" huh? :D
