What about taking care of your own? We pay a guy that has had one good year the most money for anyone at his position. But we can't come to a long term deal with Cousins who also has had one good year. I am OK with the signing and if he proves out that he is the player he was last year for the next few years, then this is a good signing. But there has to be questions about if he is that guy and was last year a fluke? There are in my mind. Sportster raises some valid points. This does have danny's standard operating procedures all over it. One has to also wonder why Carolina was willing to cut a guy that is a pro bowl caliber CB. Yes, Ive read all the crap about not valuing CBs as much. That is crap and just a massive justification. CB is one of the most important positions to fill and if you truly have a shut down corner, you don't cut him unless there are other issues.I'll wait for the real numbers to come out before I get to bothered about the cap implications. Thus far Scot has not allowed us to over extend even one iota. Hell we just signed Culliver last year to a 4 year $32 million dollar and we could cut him now and save as much as $8 million.
So lets talk about how badly we over paid him in two or three days when the REAL numbers come out.![]()
