Some interesting names to be non-tendered today:

Luke Scott
Peter Moylan
Hung-Chi Kuo
Ryan Spilborghs
Joe Saunders
Clay Hensley

The reason they are interesting:

Before last year was lost due to injuries, Luke Scott hit 75 HRs in 3 seasons for Baltimore. His defense is limited to 1B/LF, but he could be a VERY solid, Aubrey Huff type of pickup. This would be a classic Sabean move and I would be all for it.

Moylan and Kuo could both be cheap pickups to fill in for RamRam. Moylan came back late in the season after an injured year, but has been a dominant force for the Braves in the bullpen, when healthy. Kuo is always injured, but I don't even know what happened to him last year. Usually unhittable when healthy.

D-Baggs tried to trade Saunders before non-tendering him, but had no luck telling me that maybe there was little interest. Could come on the cheap as a 5th starter if Zito rolls his ankle again...

Remember Clay? Gave up Bonds 755. Starter/reliever, could step into rotation (in needed).

I would like to see the Giants pickup Luke Scott and Peter Moylan. If they are low on funds, these 2 guys should be prime targets.

Also foot note: Kepp and Whiteside non-tendered. For it was Whiteside's fault.

Problem is, he's projected to make about 7mil in his final year of arb. That's a lot of $$$$$ for a 5th stater when you're already paying Zito ace money to be your 5.

Also, Theriot was non-tendered by the Cards. If the price is right he would be a solid bat to platoon with Craw up the middle. Plus, he's better than Burris, like, by a lot.
