I don't think this shouldn't take long. The judge has had all the information for some time. The judge has to of has some feeling on which way he'd rule for a while now. Just rule quickly so either side can get on with their appeal.

Tom Brady throws two touchdowns to Scott Chandler on Sept 10th.

I know most think Brady doesn't really have a shot to win in court but I personally feel the obvious framejob by the NFL will sway the judge to rule in TB's favor.

No big surprise that there was no settlement. Both sides have really dug in and it's now more about the power of the NFL commissioner versus the NFLPA than about deflated footballs. Goodell feels he has the wording of the CBA on his side and he probably does. His attorneys have already argued that, even if his punishment decision is based on erroneous information and may seem frivolous and arbitrary to the general public, it is still well within his rights as spelled out in the CBA. After several failed or modified punishments over the past year or two, Goodell desperately wants to reaffirm his absolute authority to assess any punishment he sees fit. TB, on the other hand, still affirms his innocence and is unwilling to admit to direct involvement in a ball tampering scheme. The sides are miles apart and Judge Berman will hopefully issue a quick decision. Unfortunately, this decision may well be appealed, especially if it is the NFL doing the appealing. It will be interesting to see if the owners get involved now and try to make this the last act of this Greek tragedy. After all, the NFL is all about money and, right now, a lot of it is finding its way into the pockets of some very happy lawyers.

I hope the judge slams the shit out of Goodell and the NFL. Make them look like the complete idiots/morons they truly are.

IMO, I think the suspension sticks. However, Berman will let the NFL an everyone out there know that the NFL is full of shit and they suspended him for the sake or suspending him. NFL will win, but I think it will get ugly for them. Not that they care. They got what they wanted, and as long as people pay and support, it will continue to happen.

I have no idea how he's going to rule, but hopeful the NFL has pissed him off enough that he sends it back to arbitration with a third party (mutually agreeable = win for the NFLPA) Tags to the rescue again? Probably not after last time.

This judge doesn't sound like he's got the nuts to do the right thing and rule against his self-proclaimed "lack of evidence" and will go with the verbatim of a private enterprise's self-made rules. This is America, where the judicial keeps its distance from big-money entities which the NFL now is.

I think Berman will not vacate Brady's penalty for committing an unseen crime against the "integrity" of the NFL.

Brady will appeal and Deflategate will continue as white noise ...

Brady was only suspended for 4 games. What's the big deal?

Why not wait and make a ruling after the season is over.

I totally disagree. I think the judge recognizes that the charges are bullshit. He wants to rule in a way that will be fair but prevent being overturned in appeal.....

He may see the charges as bullshit but not Goodell's right to his decision. He was not condemning Goodell and the NFL when he said: “The parties tried quite hard. I have no qualms with everyone’s dedication and willingness in that regard. Sometimes it just doesn’t happen.”

I can't see him taking on the role as the NFL arbitrator and redefining Goodell's decision. I CAN see him ordering a rehearing of the original Brady appeal with his appointment of a different neutral arbitrator ... binding without further appeal. To be fair, he would suspend that hearing into the next offseason.

Or he could simply rule in favor of the NFL and find a way to refuse a Brady injunction ...

damn I hope I'm wrong ...

SO apparently the NFLPA leaked out that they don't think Brady will win this and they wont appeal to the next level?? I mean it was from an ESPN Insider, so take it for what it is worth. However, I have not seem Brady or the NFLPA deny this either. Also Berman had 8 other cases today, so maybe the guy is actually more concerned with real things in this world, not some PSI in a football.

Is Berman related to Goodell? Damn how long does it take to release your findings? Now we'll have to watch Ryan Lindey for 3 + quarters:doh:tonight.

There will be no appeal. Judge Berman ruled on the case in a way that leaves the NFL nothing to base their appeal on.......
