Breakdown:
NYR plays NJ on Saturday at 12:30pm
Carolina plays Atlanta Friday night, Tampa Saturday night

Basically, if Carolina can get all 4 points (with all 4 clean) they're in, Rags are out regardless. If they win both, but 2 points come in the shootout, it would go to the secondary tie breaker (assuming NYR win). If the Rags win in NJ, they need Carolina to lose one, or get 2 shootout victories. That NYR/NJD game could be huge. And the nice thing for the Canes is that it's before their Saturday game, so they know what the future will hold. Technically, if the Canes win clean against Atlanta, and NY loses in regulation, the Canes are in. Simple for Carolina. Win out.

The Hurricanes were in Atlanta watching the game themselves. Maybe Atlanta will do the Canes a favor & start Mason tomorrow. Hey the Devils have something to play for this weekend. SWEET!!

True. At least the Canes control their own destiny. The Sens winning moved the Islanders into the 4th spot for the lottery. Of course that's only if the Isles lose their two remaining games against the Pens & Flyers. I'm confident they'll lose to Philly they always do. It's the Pens I'm worried about. There's a lot of bad blood & the Isles always give it everything they've got.

Yeah most so called experts believe the top three are RNH, Larsson & Landeskog after that it's anybody's guess.
