shit movies might just have a person with a scar to give them a scar, but most of the time there's a significance to them somewhere in the storyline.

I think that if there is a significance, like dude survived a fire and is out for revenge or something, it works.

Presentation is basically the most important part of art too. Also, there are good actors who have had significant injuries in real life that shouldn't be blacklisted.

And I would put that more on the older movies. I can think of two more modern Bond baddies where I thought it was appropriate to the story. You also have to consider the source material with Bond.
